About this listen

Don't let the beautiful beaches of Rio fool you - these games are deadly.

Two years ago Jack Morgan - the head of the renowned worldwide investigation firm Private - was in charge of security for the World Cup. During the championship match, the action nearly spilled from the field into the stands. Fortunately, Jack and his Private team averted disaster on soccer's biggest stage. Now he has returned to Rio to secure the Olympics. But before the torch is lit, the threats come fast and furious when Jack discovers that someone in Brazil will stop at nothing to sabotage the games.

As the opening ceremonies near, Jack must sprint to the finish line to defuse a lethal plot set in motion during the World Cup that could decimate Rio and turn the Olympics from a worldwide celebration into a deadly spectacle.

Tense But Gets Lost At Times

Found the story an exciting follow on. Problem at times was mixing threads of 2 different plots. Some misses of logic that were made in other books. All in all a worthwhile listen.

Excellent!

Kept us interested the entire time. Two very engaging story lines entwined as one. Would make a good action movie too.

Poor Jack!

What did you love best about The Games?

The way the authors make you feel as if you are right there in Rio and experiencing the energy, danger and emotions that the characters are. Not to mention the parallels to real life that are playing out at this time in Brazil and Rio.....

Who was your favorite character and why?

Why Jack Morgan of course! His brains, his empathy, his wit.....his detective skills...

Which character – as performed by Jay Snyder – was your favorite?

Jack Morgan - Jay Snyder does a great Jack. I am not so keen on the narration of the various women...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Cry at the end...left me with a feeling of sadness as he was in the boat at end ......but also hope that in the next book (AND PLEASE MAKE IT SOON!) that Justine and Jack will finally make it work.....I love the Private series when Jack is the main character, when he plays second fiddle, as in Paris,...not so much.

Any additional comments?

GREAT LISTEN/BOOK - wish we didn't have to wait so long between books on this series and the women's mystery series! They are literate enough to feel that I am reading something more than the "cozy" mysteries, but not so intense that I have to take a break from reading/listening after something like the Girl on a Train, etc. They are fast paced, entertaining and a great break from the stress of life and business that I am in.

Great book!

James Patterson has done it again! His new series, Private, is very exciting. Now I want the next book. Will it be in the states or Brazil?
