The good: Interesting plot and characters. There was A LOT of miscommunication but I did enjoy the characters when they were getting to know each other and build their relationship. Also liked the MMC patience and reassurance for the MFC- if only that happened in real life ha!
Performance was well done but Harding does not narrate very much; I would have liked to listen to his voice more.

The meh: MFC presented as juvenile at times with the jumping to conclusions and the endless misunderstandings. I totally get her cause and effect behavior, but she wasn’t a strong enough female character for my taste.
There were way too many misconception scenarios. Just when a flow started …boom! problem. Once I looked at the time and still had 3 hours to go. I was like how is there more and when does this stop 😂.

Dare I say this- there was too much sex. I am not one to ever say this but for this book it was constant. There were two scene totally worth it for me but the others were run of the mill scenes. I don’t need 8 scenes of it I got it.

It’s part of the plus catalog which is why I finally listened. I listened to book last year and couldn’t get into this one. Once it got rolling I did want to know what happened.

The General's Desire is well-written and the narration is very good. If you need a break from all those dark romances, this is the book for you. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about two people in their mid-40s being sexy and experiencing new love without the excessive drama often portrayed by younger couples.

Such a wonderful push and pull of genuine emotions. This author has a way of blending real life situations, emotions, rationales, feelings and logic in a way that produces believable story lines!!! After 40 years of being an avid reader, this author has blended everything I consider necessary to make successful & believable stories. Truly a great read!! I’m loving all I’ve read so far!
