So much emotion! I'm not usually a huge fan of angst and generally avoid it, but Blakely is a genius storyteller and world-builder. I was a little bummed that Zachariah was a tangential character in this story, but the gods' machinations were so engrossing! I FELT the emotion and even teared up a bit, at a few points, as well as fisting my hands in anger at unfair treatment. There is so much existing mythology and folklore in this story: humans, vampires, fae, angels, God, gods, demons, fallen, the multiverse, etc. And it all FITS! One minute, people are using cellphones, and the next minute there is a horse-drawn carriage! It's nuts, but it's completely relatable and imaginable. The narrator is very flexible in intonation and accents, and I really enjoyed all the voices.
