About this listen

My name is Kaidance Monroe, and I'm cursed with the gift of sight. I see death. Bloody, violent death. Before it even happens.

I was taken in by a mysterious benefactor, who wants to use my abilities to vanquish his oldest enemy. But the dark secrets in my new home drove me away. I don't know where I belong any more - with the fallen angel who has become my protector or with the immortal deities that are determined for me to join their cause.

All I know is I'm being hunted by an army of Zeus's soldiers, tracked by monstrous beasts that want to eat me alive, and running from the one person I want to be with.

But when I find the Golden Shears and claim the power to vanquish gods, everything will change.

What I love about second-in-series books: action! All the character development is pretty well filled out. You understand the characters reasonably well (mysteries not counting of course), and the general story has been outlined, you know what the crisis is. The second book means you get all the action!

And Kaidence stays VERY busy here, complete with angsty teen romance/triangle. Seriously, the girl can’t take a minute to catch her breath, cuz when she tries she immediately gets some epiphany and feels the desire to rush off to do something else without stopping to think. This, of course, backfires spectacularly- every time! And thus, our story has a lot of momentum.

And at the end, I’m still not really sure who all is a bad guy. I’m not really sure there are ANY good guys. This story is a conundrum wrapped up in a can of worms that’s stuck between a rock and hard place.

Basically, it’s fun. Definitely worth the read/listen. The narration is excellent!

Good Second Book!

Derek Murphy did great on this second book of the Fated Destruction Series. And once again Austenne Grey did an amazing job narrating and bring Kaidance's story back to life. We pick up right where we left off in book one and it is full of action and of course the Greek Gods and Fates . Kaidance will learn to trust her instincts. She will also have a bit of a love triangle to deal with. I won't say anymore as to not ruin this story for anyone. Yet I will say I can't wait to see what the third installment has in store for Kaidance.

Gothic and Mystical Second Installment

I really enjoyed this book! The fast paced story line kept me interested and wanting to know what happened next! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Great 2nd installment

This was a really fun read, and had a lot more to offer than just the typical greek mythology zues read. Much more than just Angels are good and the typical good and evil gambit. Our main character has a lot of serious decisions to be made in the story, and I liked watching her grow and develop. The author's writing was well done, and I enjoyed her use of foreshadowing. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Great greek mythology

Loved it! Right up there with the first story! What would it be like to be hunted just for knowing the future! Narrator makes the story come alive!

Future or not!

Picks up right where book one left off, gets better and better as I follow this story. I can't tell who the "bad" guy is and its driving me mad lol. The love triangle going on is also throwing me for a loop! But I love it all!

Loved it

Well I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first book so I am glad I gave this second one a chance. Although the end made me want to scream with that cliffhanger. I now have to listen to the third one to find out how it ends. Kaidence is on the run now and desperately trying to save her friend. This one had more tension to me and made me care more about the characters. I was anxious for them and hoping they would succeed and save her friend from Zeus. Who will Kaidence trust and who will she choose in the end? Hard for her to know who she can trust in this world.

Better than the first book
