About this listen

This book is based on W. Edwards Deming’s famous concept “The System of Profound Knowledge”. Although he conceived it before the internet, or even artificial intelligence, became popular, the idea anticipated intelligent algorithms, and the efficient collaborated between human and AI. A system does not only connect employees with colleagues, but also with values, ideas, regulations, providers, clients, and other external stakeholders. Implementing system-thinking into the ethics and compliance-function means to add a third dimension to Deming’s concept of the interconnected organization: time. Today’s companies can efficiently link back to its founder, to let it guide by his / her visions and values. A sustainable strategy connects to an envisioned point in the future. To ensure that the company stays inside legal boundaries, the compliance department must have access to the company’s strategy to analyze, if the aimed goal is ethical and reachable. If this is understood, compliance can be the trusted partner to accompany the business colleagues to reach this vision.

"The good System." A book about the systems, ideals, ethics, and network that are all essential for a corporation to thrive and reach its goals. A lot of things mentioned in this book are absolutely true and should be considered without a doubt, but it takes a team of like-minded individuals (which is most important) to get the ball rolling in the right direction. Integrity and loyalty is should be considered in this regard.
