Publisher's summary

Darcy's closest friend and fellow witch, Starla Sullivan, hoped she'd never see her ex-husband, Kyle, again. Two years ago he tried to kill her, and he has been a fugitive ever since. Now Starla claims to have seen him back in Enchanted Village, but it seems she's the only one who can see him. To everyone else, her ex is invisible. Darcy only wishes his motives were as transparent as the rest of him. Since the police can't arrest someone they can't see, it's up to Darcy to find the secret behind Kyle's latest disappearing act - before he does something they can't see coming.

Best so far...

Where does The Goodbye Witch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 10 out of over 60 audio books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Goodbye Witch?

The ending was very satisfying. I was a bit worried about some developments (with Mrs. P in particular), but it was handled so well that instead of being sad I was really happy.

Which character – as performed by Coleen Marlo – was your favorite?

That's hard to answer. Often in a book, the main character is generally the one you relate to the most, but Heather has developed the other characters so well throughout this series that I feel like they are all friends. Darcy, Nick, Mimi, Harper, Mrs. P, Evan, Starla, Vi, Godfrey....and the list goes on. And of course the familiars are so adorable - I'm crazy about Archie and Pepe. I think it would be difficult for me if any of these characters disappeared from future books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldn't say extreme....I was totally involved in it from start to finish. It was a feel good book that was fun to read and I definitely want to hear more from Darcy and the gang.

Any additional comments?

I have read other series by Heather (as both Heather Blake and Heather Webber), but so far this is the only series in audio book. I don't have a lot of time to read, but I can listen to audio books when driving or doing other tasks. So I hope that more of Heather's books end up in audio

Just keeps getting better

Amazing Author and even more amazing series. The character growth and interactions never miss a beat and I love all the little surprises. Darcy is once again flung into another murder to solve but this time with the blessing of the Elder. Which puts her arch rival Glinda's nose out of joint even further with her. Oh yeah...the jealousy still oozes from her over Darcy.

Given this time the murder is pointing fingers at Darcy's best friend Starla, Darcy goes out of her way to solve it. It all embroiling Starla's X husband and he being the corpse found in Starla's home. Ooops!

Also, the side story with Mrs. P, Archie and Pepe continue on and it is one heck of a side story....I'll just let you hang on that and read the book.

The book as a whole didn't drag, didn't dull one moment. There were the, "Oh no you didn't!" moments and "Oh heck no!" ones too and let's not forget the a few tears and sniffles at one point.

Read it...it's not a disappointment....I do suggest that if you haven't read the previous ones...read those first....you'll understand more. :)

Love the book

I really enjoy reading Heather Blake's books, I also really like the books she writes as Heather Webber. In fact, I had already read The Goodbye Witch when the audio became available and I purchased the audiobook thinking it was the one I hadn't read.

Maybe it's because I've read these characters and have a preconceived opinion of them, but I was not thrilled with the voices the narrator gave them.

This is one of the few books I have listened to where I honestly have no dislikes. this series has become a comfort listen for me every year around Halloween or whenever I need a dose of the warm and fuzzies.

Best one yet

Best in the series so far. Just purchased the next one to listen to this afternoon. This one has some unexpected twists and turns, and is worth a couple of Kleenex in the second half. Only part of this is for sadness, and much is for happiness. Mrs P plays a larger role, as does The Elder. And there's introduction of a new familiar at the end. Great book.

Another good read in the series

I breezed through this book, I just fly through cozies! I loved the way things are developing in the village! I was again bored with the gratuitous recapping. Every book draws you more into the Enchanted Village and entrenches the denizens more into your heart.

This book gives more backstory for Starla and her love life. We have the mystery with her Ex and complications with her new relationship. There are so many things at play here. It wasn't was intriguing as the last book but it was an entertaining read.

This book as very much about relationships, Nick and Darcy, Glinda and Nick/Mimi, Starla and Kyle, Starla and Vincent, Ve and her latest flavor. Lots of side plots going on beside the main murder plot. A few things were obvious, however others managed to surprise.

The audiobook narrated by Coleen Marlo is well done. I think my ears are now used to her after devouring three books straight. I am settled into her vocal quirks, they seem less now, maybe she has been working on them. I do enjoy her pace and energy in the story. She moves swiftly with the story and makes for a more engaging read.

This book moves things along in the Enchanted Village. I am super curious who the Elder really is, will we ever know? I will have to jump right into the latest book in the series!!
