About this listen

The Green Man’s Foe is a modern fantasy rooted in the ancient myths and folklore of the British Isles from best-selling author Juliet E. McKenna.

When you do a good job for someone, there’s a strong chance they’ll offer you more work or recommend you elsewhere. So Daniel Mackmain isn’t particularly surprised when his boss’ architect brother asks for his help on a historic house renovation in the Cotswolds. Except Dan’s a dryad’s son, and he soon realises there’s a whole lot more going on. Ancient malice is stirring, and it has made an alliance in the modern world. The Green Man expects Dan to put an end to this threat. Seeing the danger, Dan’s forced to agree. The problem is he’s alone in a place he doesn’t know, a hundred miles or more away from any allies of his own.

The sequel to a very good book

Although I was a little disturbed by the fact that we had a new narrator, after a bit, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to enjoy the book as I had the first one. This series has very interesting characters and mythological creatures and is well written, and The dialogue seems very natural.

I was expecting more

I was so glad there was a second book, the first one was very engaging.
Not this one though, it dragged slowly until something happened.
A lot of missed opportunities to make an interesting plot out of it.

story OK narrator not so much!

The first book in this series was pretty good and I was excited to get more into this world with the second book but the narrator change really ruined our for me! He took a guy who is supposed to be super manly and made him doing like a snobbish whiney loser! The plot was pretty slow to reveal itself and would have been more interesting to me if it tied to the first story more but it was ok. Will give this series a chance to redeem itself but definitely disappointed with this book!

Disappointed

Finished the Green Man’s Heir, and started book 2 right away. Wow, what happened?

Half way through the book, and still trying to find a plot or reason for this book. Added ways to many new people, which have no purpose either. Daniel still in story, but for what, no story or purpose for him either.

Drugs, drugs, drugs, the F-Bomb dropped FAR too much.

Why not continue with story lines established in book one? Learn about Daniels family, especially his mother?

How very sad, and what a waste of a credit
