About this listen

Somewhere a witch is going to die today.

For Charlie Payne, gruesome visions of death are just a normal Tuesday, but when she investigates the murders of two green witches, her usual methods lead nowhere. With her options to save the next victim dwindling, she must test a dangerous new form of astral projection to find the killer.

Meanwhile, Charlie's cousin Lisa has her own set of problems. When an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a garden center drops in her lap, it seems almost too good to be true. When her store manager dies in a mysterious accident after being stalked for months, that dream quickly turns into a nightmare. Now, the stalker has turned his sights on Lisa, and it turns out the “lucky” plant left to her by the previous owner is anything but.

As if that wasn't bad enough when the threads of Charlie's murder investigation tangle with Lisa's growing list of troubles, both of their lives will be on the line.

This is one of the best stories about the witches. A thoroughly entertaining book. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Absolutely love this series. Since I work daily in my own business, this allows for me to escape. On my drive, while sanding furniture, etc. i thoroughly enjoy every word. Only part I dislike, is getting to my driveway and sitting in the car because I can’t possibly stop in the middle of a chapter lol.

Wonderful series

I am really loving these books by Wendy Wang! I jumped from #3 to The Green Witch and almost quit listening after the first chapter. This narrator does not have a knack for voices and I think is even throwing in a little New England accent for the coroner when this book is set in the South. Half the time the narration sounds as if it is AI and just learning how to simulate human emotion. If this story was not intriguing I’d be forced to return the book. Yikes!

The narration!

Wendy continues to impress me with her story ideas and original plots that is the good. The bad...there are some gaping plot holes but I convinced myself to get past them.
The really, really bad is, once again, the narration. Apparently the narrator has never read the reviews.. Every female character who isn't Charli, Lisa or over 50 sounds like a cartoon 5 year old. Every woman over 50 sounds exactly the same as Evangeline and they all sound like they're pushing 80.
The Southern accents come and go on a whim. Tom, a reaper, has a horrible thick Southern but Jason, a born and bred Southern boy sounds like he's never set foot south of Vermont. I've had to buy text copies and occasionally switch to physically reading when the narration becomes too grating.

the good and the bad
