About this listen

In the moments before the attack, TJ Brown was the only person on the entire Hugon University campus who was listening to music. This was no coincidence.

TJ wasn’t trying to be unique. He didn’t even know that there was anything special about listening to music that morning. But there was, which made him the primary target of an international conspiracy which he wanted nothing to do with. He also wanted nothing to do with the governor’s plan for TJ to undertake a quest to foil this conspiracy, but he wasn’t in a position to refuse, was he?

He wasn’t. Which means he will have to reluctantly, grumpily, move his tail from Hugonia to Mt. Huggleface, trying not to burn anyone with his half-dragon breath along the way. And, thanks to encounters with elves, vampires, trolls, silly humans, pixies, demons, talking bears, gods, monsters, and Doris, keeping his cool will not be easy.

Fortunately for TJ, he will not need to be calm all of the time. He also won’t need to be a hero all the time. But he will need to be a hero at least some of the time, or he may not have the freedom to be grumpy ever again.

This book is ideal for a teenaged audience who are into video games. It reads like a video game with new challenges arising in each chapter as the hero makes his way on a quest. He must pass through areas, battle monsters, and keep his group of misfits together.

The narrator does a great job of immersing us into the world and characters. And he really brings the whole thing together.

The plot twists are pretty transparent, but the hero is loveable.

Although YA isn’t really a genre I usually enjoy, this was a good listen.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.

A plethora of supernatural creatures and music.
What could be.more incongruous??? Humorous,
whitty and with interesting characters. A lighthearted adventure I enjoyed. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

what the what???

I usually do not write reviews of the books I listen to. I am writing this one to help other audible users avoid wasting a credit. I had to force myself to listen to the entire book. This book was garbage.

Horrible
