A Lesson in Evil, Philosophy and Psychology

Hitler's evil came at the world in a blitzkrieg that the west could not contain, Stalin's evil was a way of life for mostly Eastern Europe alone, and so the west chose to contain it.

Enlightening.

Elegant description of a brutal period in Russia that destroyed and buried centuries of rich Russian culture. This certainly sheds light on current life and politic in modern Russia. It is also a stark warning for those that would bury Western Liberalism in favor of socialism and woke-ism.

One of the Most Important of the 20th Century

While Hitler’s horrific genocide of 6 million Jews is generally well know, the Soviet Union’s murder and torture of 20 million often goes unnoticed, and yet is far more important to study, in my opinion. Everyone seems to agree Hitler’s “Arian Supremacy” political views were wicked, yet Socialism has seen an unprecedented and unimaginable comeback in the last 20 years, paraded around like it’s humanity’s salvation. “But it won’t happed here,” new proponents say. “This is America. We’ll do it the RIGHT way.”

An apathetic and uninterested coworker of mine said politics was a waste of time and completely inconsequential to “real life”. This book is compelling evidence that even the most basic political ideology can have dramatic, decade long consequences, including the greatest cover up of mass genocide in history.

Read this book.

Should be required reading.

The Gulag: most important non-fiction work of the Twentieth Century. Davidson's narration is phenomenal.
