About this listen

Based on a real haunted house - Brynlee House has a past, a secret, it is one that would be best left buried.

Emma has been hiding for a year. Hiding from an abusive ex who broke more than her bones. Now it is time to start again and she has been left an old house in which to make a new beginning.

Brynlee house is remote, old, and kinda creepy, but she knows that this is the second chance she needs. That is until things start to go wrong. The sound of a child laughing, or screaming haunts her dreams. Strange sounds, smells, and marks on the wall make her doubt her own sanity and what is it with the black cat?

Is this just stress? Has her ex found her and is he playing games?

When Emma starts to research the house, she reads of witch trials, of burning, and torture, but surely that can have nothing to do with today?

In her panic she calls in a police man. Brent searches the house but can find no intruder. All his training tells him this woman is seeing things... and yet his gut says something is not quite right.

Welcome to Brynlee House, dare you look into its past? If you do, beware of the cat, he has been here longer than anyone!

Annoying Voice

I couldn't come close to finishing this book, the female voice was so annoying. The reader might have been a kindergarten teacher because she might have been reading with a Winnie the Poo voice, and this book is supposed to be a spooky mystery. Where do they hire these women from, and do they listen to them before hiring? Too bad because the book would have been good with deeper voice.

Couldn't continue

I was so disappointed in the performance of this book that I could not even finish it. The reader ends almost every sentence like she is asking a question. There are times that is seems like she's babbling and doesn't know what she's reading. She definitely did not perform the book. She just read it. I might actually enjoy the book if I read it instead of listening to it. It had a lot of promise to it.

bad narrator and bad audio.

Amazon shouldn't be charging audible subscribers credits for these short books like this, especially when they are either $0.99 or even free with a Kindle subscription.

Anyways.. The narrator is dull and boring and there's some sort of eco or something, as if this were recorded by the author in their bedroom with a bad mic. The quality of the audio is bad enough to not make this book worth it.
