About this listen

"Iron...and...salt," whispers the old man. The dead old man. "Hurry or it will be too late...."

In a bid to escape the stresses of city life, Brian Roy moves his family out into the country, a decision that will forever thrust him into the chilling world of ghosts....

This digital box set contains all of the six thrilling supernatural novels in this best-selling series:

Moving In: The utopia of a peaceful country oasis is brutally shattered when Brian discovers a dead body in the woods, and his home has been infiltrated by murderous ghosts. Perhaps this wasn’t the change he was looking for, but Brian prays that he’s up to the challenge.

The Dunewalkers: William Engberg moves into a house by the shore to escape his tragic past. Unfortunately, he finds a legion of unwanted guests in his new home: ghosts. Determined to beat them, he enlists the help of ghost hunter Brian Roy, who is armed with a rare journal on how to vanquish the dead.

Middlebury Sanitarium: Brian Roy leads a successful ghost hunting organization called The Leonidas Group, but he may have finally met his match against the evil spirits lurking in Middlebury Sanitarium. Encountering everything from a vengeful king to lost souls still fighting WWI, Brian and his team have their hands full.

The First Church: In his latest adventure, Brian Roy will fight the ghosts of headless Japanese soldiers wreaking havoc in a New Hampshire church. They have indiscriminately murdered and maimed everyone from children to police officers, and the ghosts’ thirst for vengeance is as insatiable as their thirst for saké.

The Paupers’ Crypt: Brian Roy succumbs to the stress of his job and gives himself a break by taking up work as a superintendent at Woods Cemetery. At first, he couldn’t be happier...until dead people rear their grisly heads and grasping hands, pulling him back into his old job of ghost hunting.

The Academy: Brian’s exhaustion is deeper than ever before. But when he finds out his cousin Mitchell, the principal of the academy, is running into some ghostly trouble, he races against time to stop them.

Mild Ghost Hunters Story

The ghosts are so obvious that they are more like living people with extra powers and really bad attitudes. This isn't deep or full of terror but it's a nice mild listen when you don't have a lot of energy to put into anything deep. The narrator's slow speaking style required speeding up to make it bearable. Once the speed is increased he's OK but the women's voices are a mess.

Terrible narrator

This book could have been creepy and scary if that got someone e to read it with any skill. the writing is decent but the only way I could stomach the narration is to playback at 150 speed. There were some really scary parts or they would have been if the narrator wasn't reading it like a text book.

Love the Box Set

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves the supernatural ghost stories. This is the 2nd time I’ve listened to books but 1st as box set and loved it as I did not have to wait for next book and not having to find the books in order on my IPod.
Book1 Moving In Brian and his wife Jenny move into New Hampshire house after his heart attack and find it haunted. My favorite characters were Leo and Sam who help Brian with the ghosts especially Paul and his family. Sylvia, Jenny’s friend is a medium and visits and recommends salt and iron for protection. There is a lot of action with angry evil ghosts.
Book2 The Dunewalkers Brian is now considered a ghostbuster entrepreneur and is hired by William Engberg to help to get rid of all the ghosts in and around his house prominent ghost is Kathleen and there is Indian ghosts . (Poor dogwalker Joseph and his great danes). Brian armed with his equipment and an old journal attempt to help but need other’s help before he helps William and recommends salt and iron. Leo is again in book. Paul is back and Jeanette, Charles and Ellen try to bind him into a doll, then there is Florence, so sorry for Sylvia. What happens to William you have to listen
Book 3 Middlebury Sanitarium (a favorite) There are many ghosts in the sanitarium under the control of the king. Carl Reynard wants Brian to investigate the unwanted activities as he wants the place sold. Ken is the guard on the 3rd shift who had been able to keep them quite until recently and helps Brain with the most active areas. Leo gives Brian a powerful gift which gives him the ability to see all the ghosts. All hell breaks loose with the ghosts as the King arrives. Sylvia’s niece Ann (wannabee ghosthunter) comes to help Brian. Francine a young ghost from his past is also there and she also hates the King. There are many deaths occurring during his investigation. . Florence is brought in to help destroy the King
Book 4 The First Church The Reverend from the church calls Brian to help with the abnormal activity that is occurring and has video of what happened to 2 boys who had their eyes removed in the church. Mr. Boyd collected 6 heads of Japanese soldiers when he was in the service and the soldiers want them back. Shane from the Berkley Street series (which I highly recommend) come as he speaks Japanese and to help Brian. Jim (who sees ghosts) and his grandfather Luke (who is blind) and sake really help Brian. Miles Cunningham has been putting the skulls in the church as well as serving the Japanese soldiers sake to keep from them killing him. Leo communicates with Jim and then with Brian to also help him understand the soldiers. Sad ending.
Book 5 The Paupers' Crypt Brian wants break from ghosthunting and takes job as superintendent of the cemetery but encounters more ghosts and seems he cannot get away from them. John and Brian enter the crypt and find a skeleton and get locked into it and Ghost Mitchel tells them to use much caution when trying to find the door to get out, they run into several malevolent spirits one who rules them all. His wife Jenny cannot get in touch with Brian talked with Shane for help then Sylvia arrives and will get in touched with Leo. They are met with many difficulties, fog, ghosts, you have to listen to rest.
Book 6 The Academy (favorite) Brian had given up ghosts until his cousin Mitchell a principle of the Academy asks for his help. There are 2 evil ghosts (Weiss and Weston) that are wreaking havoc in the school and getting people to do there evil deeds. Felt sorry for Herman, Aaron, Marilyn. Larry, Eddie, Charlie and more. Brian talked with Ernest (Weiss’s son) and got more info. Enjoyed Beth the detective and again Leo. Loved that Charlie went to live with his brother.
If you enjoy ghosts I HIGHLY recommend as well as the Berkley Street Series. I was given this book from ScareStreet and voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU!!!
