Publisher's summary

Sometimes I'd rather shield my eyes than see darkness in light.

It was my senior year at Hawthorne University when everything fell apart. I mean, all my witch friends got along fine—sort of. But I was nervous about my love life. I just had to get into Hawthorne's graduate program, because my boyfriend was going to be a professor. I didn't want to lose him. I didn't want to lose anyone.

And things got weirder. One witch was threatened with sacrificial murder. Another witch spent all day murmuring to herself, in the center of a circle of candles, on a pentagram she painted in her dorm room. It all pointed to the wicked witch of the Abaddon coven. If I was right, it might just take a full-fledged witch showdown to stop her.

So? Bring it on. What did I have to lose? Just everyone I love. And maybe my soul....

The Hawthorne Witch is book three in the Hawthorne University Witch Series. The books in this series are complete self-contained novels not ending in cliffhangers. Some spoilers cannot be avoided, but this is a standalone novel that can be enjoyed without listening to the other books in the series.

Content warning: The Hawthorne Witch is a new adult college paranormal romance containing profanity, sexual scenes, adult situations, and witchcraft.

More witches!

The last in the series. There are new characters in this book, some sad, shocking developments and changes. Author explores dilemmas and situationships that we can all relate to. Always in awe of Cadence’s powers, and the check and balances of nature.

Fabulous!

After months of inner strife within the coven and between Bryce and Cadence, there seems to be a general sense of peace, but that is an illusion. The source of evil, Enora, doesn't give up on her plan to fracture the coven and take revenge on Cadence and Bryce. The author uses exceptional imagery and succinct inner thoughts to move the story at a perfect pace. When Enora starts to "steal" Cadence's witches and put them under her spell, the results are deadly. Now it's up to Cadence to make the perfect plan to free her friends and fellow witches. The description of the "end" of Enora's power is visually perfect and she seems defeated, but don't be surprised.....The author very cleverly introduces new characters and leaves some threads hanging. In the prologue, when each witch and warlock made a wish around the maypole, Bryce heard Cadence's wish and it was fulfilled. I love this entire series and certainly hope that it continues.
Alexa Elmy does a wonderful job with the narration. Each voice was unique and the intonation made each of the characters come to life. I particularly enjoyed her ability to sound authentic with her witches' chants.
A word of advice: These books are advertised as standalones, but you will be missing chunks of information as you try to get into the sequels. I believe that you can only get full enjoyment by reading them in order.
I received a copy of this book through Audible and this is my honest and voluntary review.
