Publisher's summary

The Heart Sutra, originally a very short set of verses, was given in privacy as a message to one of Buddha's close disciples, Sariputra, specifically addressed to him. Over time the Heart Sutra became one of Buddhism's core teachings.

In these 10 talks, Osho presents the powerful message of these ancient words and brings them to a modern audience - one with different minds and needs than the original audiences of Buddha more than 2,500 years ago. Osho's message is not about Buddha the historical figure; instead he addresses his listeners and encourages them to discover their own inner realities, their own buddhahood. Like Buddha's, Osho's message is about meditation and meditation alone - "rely only on your meditation and nothing else".

Osho also speaks on the seven chakras, the energy centers of the human body, and their corresponding relationships to the physical, psychosomatic, psychological, psychospiritual, spiritual, spiritual-transcendental, and transcendental aspects of human growth and consciousness.

The Core of Buddhism

Delightfully led discussions on the very heart of Buddhism. Always a fan of OSHO and his light-hearted journey through the mind.

Geosphere->Biosphere->Noosphere->Christosphere

A beautiful and inspiring interpretation of the Heart Sutra by Osho.

The Osho's interpretation of the last part of the sutra is sublime, the parallelism between Theilard de Chardin and Buddha regarding the purification of the consciousness is a genius touch:

Gate (gone from the Geosphere, unconsciousness)

Gate (gone from the Biosphere, pre-consciousness)

Paragate (gone from the Noosphere, conscience)

Parasamgate (Christosphere, Turiya, the other shore)

Bodhi soha (Hallelujah!)

Another mirror

As I have recently been more drawn to Buddhism, I may feel more compelled by this discourse. I felt very moved by Osho’s spirit in this discourse. Another excellent mirror.

OSHO is the absolute best

If you want an insightful, irreverent and enlightening hours and hours of pure unadulterated wisdom... please! Listen to this audiobook! Do not read the book! Seriously! You have to listen to this stuff, there is no one on earth as skillful as OSHO, not Thay, not Eckhart, Not Krishnamurti, not Dalai Lama... non of the modern masters even come close!
I am so happy we have so much material of his... we truly are lucky...
WARNING:
For those expecting to learn about the heart sutra... beware!!! This does not talk about Avalokita or anything really, it does touch on emptiness and stuff like that... but more than anything the sutra is just a way to get the Dharma Talk started... which is brilliant!
Mullana Srudin told me so!!!

intolerable

The narration is so awful that this magnificent content is lost to distraction. Very disappointing.
