About this listen

Frank Cotton's insatiable appetite for the dark pleasures of pain led him to the puzzle of Lemarchand's box, and from there, to a death only a sick-minded soul could invent. But his brother's love-crazed wife, Julia, has discovered a way to bring Frank back-though the price will be bloody and terrible . . . and there will certainly be hell to pay. This book is the basis for the blockbuster movie Hellraiser.

I've not seen Hellraiser (yet), but always thought of it as a cooky 80's film. But this story is amazing, and well-worth the listen. A wonderful, twisted universe delivered in a clear and believable way. Highly recommend.

Pleasantly Surprised

Interesante, encantador y aterrador

Absolutely fire. The opening and ending are so much better then the movie. And the engineer sounds awesome. The simple fact that Barker reads it himself just adds to how good it is

Solid Fire

The movie Hellraiser is 80s gold, but the book that started it all uses your own imagination to expand that world in a new way. Also the reading of it has a haunting quality that I loved!

Imagination is a great compliment to the 80s movies

I read this book many years ago and it is still awesome: I really enjoyed the narration of the book by Clive Barker himself.

Loved it. I listen to it on a 15 minute timer each night, roughly wrapping up each week to start again the next.

One of the all time greats
