About this listen

Danger and hilarity collide in this adventurous tale of a shy teenage boy trying to escape his abusive father by seeking solace in video games and fervently wishing he were somewhere else. Wishful thinking doesn't usually accomplish much, but in this case, his desperation wakens a latent power that forges a real connection between worlds.

Jericka, the young and feisty sheriff of Ahnyalsiath, finds herself faced with multiple problems when a destructive stranger begins rampaging through her erstwhile peaceful town. She was stationed there to keep her out of trouble, but not only does trouble seem to have it out for her, it's going after the entire country, too!

This is my favorite of A.J. Bakke's books that I have read so far and the performance delivered by Mary Ann Weathers is just incredible, adding even more character to an already imaginative world. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

Mary Ann Weathers brings a great story to life!

Although loosely similar in concept to something like Awaken Online (for you Travis Bagwell fans), this book puts a whole new twist on the almost overwhelmingly popular concept of VR game-based stories in one key factor: the "virtual" part isn't. The writing style shifts in a manner to help keep the reader's attention where appropriate, and although certain events may transpire a bit abrubtly at times, the pace the story proceeds at is enough to keep you pushing through to the end. Listened to this in audiobook format and will most certainly be listening to it again after I finish one of the author's other books

A refreshing take on the "world's collide" concept
