Publisher's summary

A brave fifteenth-century Highlander fiercely devoted to his foster family, Hunter of clan MacKintosh can defeat any man in battle. Thanks to his fae gifts, he can read the intent of his opponents and guess their next moves. But when the faerie Madame Giselle sends Hunter to the present day, he stumbles into a staged battle and rescues a young knight - only to discover that the knight is a woman, and she's anything but a damsel in distress.

Meghan McGladrey learned martial arts and sword fighting from her father, a time-traveling Highlander himself. To Hunter's surprise, Meghan is as skilled as any knight. When both of them are pulled back to the fifteenth century, Meghan becomes desperate to return to her time. Hunter, who is pledged to another, begins to fall for the beautiful, brave warrior as they fight side by side against a common enemy. Now, he must decide which matters more: his honor or following his heart.

Exciting battles and intoxicating passion reunite in the third novel of Loch Moigh from award-winning author Barbara Longley.

Wonderful book and spectacular narration.

Any additional comments?

I started laughing right off the bat. It just struck me funny that a male’s member was called a “tarse” and his rear-end was called an “arse.”

Anyway, I’m glad this book is not 300 or 400 pages because there was a lot of angst already, and I do hate pages and pages of angst. I mean, really? Hunter wanted to marry Sky because he was concerned about his feelings for Meghan, afraid he can’t do his job if he’s constantly thinking of Meghan? The stupid angst lasted through the whole book but it was not so bad as to ruin the book because there was so much more going on.

I loved Hunter, despite his angst, and Meghan, because she was so kick-ass. I also liked Tieren, Allain, Sky and Aine. And it was nice seeing Malcolm and True, from True to the Highlander. As well as Robley and Erin, from The Highlander’s Bargain.

There is some great sex in this book so if you're not into that then find another book to listen to.

All three books were just wonderful time travel books.

I have to say that I don’t usually like male narrators but Mr. Gigante is just awesome. His women’s voices are spot on and our luscious hero, Hunter, has a voice you could only dream about whispering in your ear. I would not hesitate to listen to him again. Such a marvelous voice.

new narrator

I was so happy when this book started because I heard the voice of a narrator I've listened to before, and he is great at reading historical Scottish romance!
I assume if you're reading this, you listened to the previous books. This narrator is much better.

As for the story, I think Hunter was not the best choice of men. Tieren would have been better. Tieren is another Robley, honorable and devoted. Hunter is kind of a scumbag but doesn't realize it. He must have been super hot to make up for how dumb he is.

intrigue!

Omg. How does Barbara Longley do it? The Loch Moig books just keep getting more interesting and complex! #3 completed, and my favorite so far. Just when I thought I had things figured out, she adds another element to the plot! Complex and satisfying!

Enjoyable narrator

This narrator is a huge improvement over the woman who did the first two books. I hope he does the next one!

The story was amusing and entertaining. For the most part, a different plot than the previous two. I would definitely recommend reading them in order.
