About this listen

Lady Greer was a hellion from the moment she could walk. So when the young woman is forbidden by her father, the Earl of Sutherland, to sail, she steals a boat and rows it out into the firth anyway. But her relaxing jaunt turns into so much more when a storm ravages the chill waters and certain death is soon upon her.

The last thing Roderick MacCulloch, Laird of Gleann Morinnse Castle, expects to find while out scouting his property is a soaked lass upon his shores. When she demands he take her back to her clan, he recognizes her as the mischievous lass who taunted him at a festival when they were children. Roderick realizes this might be his chance to have a bit of fun and give the lass a taste of her own medicine.

But Roderick's chance at revenge turns into a merry chase across the Highlands that leads them both to unexpected passion, perilous danger...and maybe even love.

Loved it!

Greer is the best! I loved this installment of the Sutherland books. As always, perfect narration. Unfortunately, there were a few sound editing errors.

THE FIGHTING BRIDE

I Loved this story. Although I was beginning to wonder if Grim was ever gonna realize he was falling in love with Greer cause he was being so slow to make up his mine that he truly wanted her. My favorite part of this book was the comic release parts of the book like when Greer started wrestling around on the floor with the old lady Ross. Anthony Ferguson is such a great narrator for these Scottish books. I just love to listen to him reading in his Scottish dialect. He makes it so easy to imagine as he reading that he is actually the real character of the book

hypothermia? really?

I have enjoyed this series but please don't use 19th century terms like hypothermia in 14th century Historical romance.

Love this series!

This series is a quick listen. Although a little predictable, it's so sweet, I didn't mind.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars- okay story good characters

While the storyline is fairly simple and we don't get alot of depth, the male and female lead characters are a pleasure to get to know. I really appreciated the spunk and wit the heroine possessed. It is nice to read about a strong independent lady with interests all her own including her passion for sailing. The parents of The Sutherland children are also written well and make the unique characters of each sibling in the series more believable. The playfulness between the budding romantic couple was fun to read/listen to and made me outwardly smile.
As a Highland Romance, it may not be what most are accustomed to reading/ listening to as far as lifestyles, fighting depictions, descriptions of countryside, etc... But all in all this is a sweet romance story with the HEA you'd expect and characters you can root for.
The narrator's voice is a pleasure to listen to even if there might be a couple areas where there was not quite enough separation in tones to easily distinguish which character was speaking. I wouldn't hesitate to listen to this narrator again.
