About this listen

After losing his betrothed, Ceana, to a Lowlander, Laird Gabriel MacKinnon is charged with saving her cousin along with a brood of children from an impenetrable castle. Though the lady he's been tasked with protecting has been accused of a heinous crime, Gabriel has no fear of her. In fact he's a little irritated at the prospect of delivering her to her kin. But this hardened, cold warrior just may find his heart melting, for the hellion brings out a passionate side he'd thought long buried.

Lady Brenna has had more than her share of hardships, and when freedom looks to be on the brink of her horizon, she's not about to let some moody Highlander take it all away. She'll stop at nothing to keep her children safe - and to guard her heart - even though the warrior's heated kiss threatens to change every vow she's ever made and every belief about love she's ever known.

Contains mature themes.

it was fine

I listen to this type of book often. This was just ok. The storyline had a lot of promise but did not deliver as expected. instead of being anxious to keep listening, I felt like we'll, I bought it, I'll finish it.

It was a good lesson not amazing but acceptableThe

The narration of Anthony Ferguson was amazing. However, the story was acceptable. I like the part about the children and the role in the story. It was OK and but I did not like the part where she was married of as a child at 12 years it really disturbed me. Maybe this was happening in medieval times, but I did not like it.

How To Really Treat A Lady

Loved this story. I felt so sorry for the herion of this story she was beat up and abuse so much but she still held that spunkiness that made Wolf fall in love with her. The narrator I have listen to in many of these Scottish books. Anthony Ferguson is excellent and I enjoy the books he narrates. The story was really good and I recommend this to anyone who's thinking about reading it.

Starts out great..ends up rushed

The main male character started as a fearsome Warrior and ended up being whiny and to nice. The female main character started out sassy-then is taken, abused, beaten and broken. her captives die, she is blamed and now she’s Sassy again...the story moves along like it about to have a great point then, it leaves you wondering did I miss it? There was so much about this book that could have been superb but I felt it just kept missing the mark. I loved the possibilities these characters could have had.

Wonderful story about a hardheaded woman warring between what she wants and what her stubbornness/strength tells her she needs. Anthony Ferguson gets 5 Stars all day long! He is a wonderful narrator. 💗

Brenna and Gabriel

I love this book. Such a wonderful story of how Brenna overcame devastating beginnings, protected her children and eventually found Gabriel whose life was made complete by finding his Brenna. And the narration is perfect. Antony Ferguson has surely won many awards for his outstanding narration.

Good story

I was very excited to read Gabriel's story. He is mentioned in the two of the books in the Stolen Bride series which is amazing. This is a fun spin off the stolen bride series. This was a fun story but I wish there was a little bit more romance and I felt the ending could have been a bit better. I felt like it was just cut off. I think the author could have added another chapter or maybe even an epilogue.
