I finished listening to "The Hitch-Hiker," a timeless Twilight Zone tale narrated by Stacy Keach. This 1960 episode, written by Rod Serling, remains as unsettling and captivating today as it was more than six decades ago. The story follows Nan Adams (Kate Jackson), a young woman driving cross-country, who keeps encountering a mysterious hitchhiker. As the journey unfolds, Nan's sanity begins to unravel, and the listener is left questioning what's real and what's just Nan's imagination. Keach's narration perfectly captures the eerie atmosphere and sense of foreboding that define this classic tale. His voice adds depth to the story, making it feel both nostalgic and eerily contemporary. If you're a fan of The Twilight Zone or just enjoy a good psychological thriller, 'The Hitch-Hiker' is a must-listen. So buckle up, and get ready for a chilling ride that will leave you sleeping with the lights on.

A chilling classic: "The Hitch-Hiker" still haunts

A classic episode. Full of that Twilight Zone creepiness.

Kate Jackson however is thoroughly unconvincing as a reader. She's narrating the story without any sense of real feelings. She's ACTING it - badly. As this is more or less a "inner monolog" episode, it detracts from my enjoying the story. She did another T Z episode (Queen of the Nile). Did the same thing there. I like her, but not as a narrator.

Classic creepy episode. Unconvincing voice acting.

the tv show version of the hitch-hiker was much better and haunting the fear suspence wasn't translated well since the man didn't say much in the story but* are you going my way ? seeing him in the back seat was more scary
