About this listen

Craig Munroe is the kind of man legends are written about.

Escape to the high country in this passionate love story of a young doctor and a legendary horseman whose lives become inextricably linked, by the best-selling author of Ryders Ridge, Charlotte Nash.

It's been 11 years since Dr. Peta Woodward, born into a horse-breeding dynasty, fled the family stud in the wake of a deadly tragedy that split her family apart. Carrying wounds that have never truly healed, Peta has focused on helping others. But when an injury during a solo trip through the Australian high country leaves her stranded, the man who comes to her rescue is Craig Munroe, a born and bred high-country horseman - and the kind of man legends are written about.

Stuck in the tiny town of Yarraman Falls while she recovers, Peta is surrounded by prying eyes and heartbreaking reminders of all she has lost. But while she resolves to leave as soon as she can, fate has other ideas....

Fans of Rachael Johns will devour The Horseman, the passionate new novel of romance, medicine and drama from much-loved author Charlotte Nash.

An unexpected find!

Where does The Horseman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I think this is somewhere in the middle. It was a very good performance. Perhaps not the most literary of books, but an entertaining listen without being too dumbed down or simple.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the setting, the characters, the horses. It was really and intriguing story of happenstance that was believable yet whimsical at the same time.

Have you listened to any of Wendy Bos’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Who was the most memorable character of The Horseman and why?

Craig and Peta were both excellent characters. They each struggled with their own demons, which brought them closer together.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book!

Fresh and interesting, marvelous read

I don't review many books, usually they have enough said about them that I feel my praise might be over kill, but this book was different. This is a terrific book, clean and fresh, like the Australian highlands. Intriguing and fascinating, strong characters.Reminds me of Elyne Mitchell's works, but for adults. Would love to see more of Ms. Nash's work on Audible. The narrator, well you just can't narrate about Austrailia without being Australian, I think. She has the right cadence in her voice does Ms. Bos, a music that Australians have when they speak about their country.
