Publisher's summary

A tornado of chaos is tearing through Reality, and in its path is the newest House—a bleak and forbidding fortress built of magic and grief by the most unlikely of sorcerers—a human.

A reckless act of compassion costs Dr. Kira Aist her family and her future on Earth. To escape her enemies, she calls on her heritage as a descendant of Baba Yaga and walks between worlds.

As Kira roams the paths of Reality, strangers are drawn to her House. Some seek refuge, some seek power, and one just wants kitty treats.

With the fate of multiple worlds hanging in the balance, Kira must discover what it means to be a sorcerer and the keeper of a House.

The House That Walked Between Worlds is a compelling and original fantasy novel of multiple worlds and beguiling mystery in the tradition of Ursula Le Guin and Diana Wynne Jones.

Applause!!!!

I rarely read and listen to a book but this series will definitely be an exception. This book is an excellent listen with the perfect narrator. I already read all available books in the series and I can hardly wait to listen to the rest of the series. Well Done!!! If you have not experience Jenny Schwartz, you will not be sorry trying this series.

Potential but review pending....

This story has potential. I enjoyed it but felt it was not complete. It left me wanting to hear more but It has started many archs for stories yet completed or really moved many forward. I will be getting the next one and hopefully it will not disappoint.

Creativity

Like all the unique characters and world. Good combo of mostly fantasy with a little sci fi. Performance was mature and believable.

Good For Young Audiences

Good concept. Probably for a younger audience. Good voices but a bit strained on the cat noises.

Nice Try but No Cigar

This book was based around an interesting idea but the execution was not well done. For one thing, and this might sound nitpicky but the names the author chose for things were really odd and felt incorrect, even for a book of fiction. More so than that, the main character's powers are shown without limits yet somehow she never used them as a kid. You know, because kids are paragons of restraint. Speaking of children, it sort of feels like a child wrote this book. Something like this: "A girl was told not to use her magical powers but then she did and she was as powerful as a god and made a magical house that can go anywhere in multiple universes and she meets a hot elf guy and they travel around together and stuff. Oh yeah, they have a big scary cat type thing as a pet too. The end." Yes, pretty much like that.

No spoilers

the narration was good and it started out good. then it took a turn I felt like there was a whole lot missing no world or character building the action was meh and the MC went from not knowing much to bam she was a know it all. the MC just turned me off supporting characters were ok but they also were written like you should just know off of what little you find out about them like I said I really liked the idea of this book wish it was written better. now if you want really good writing and fantastic narration check out Charles Tillman big monster money fantastic series
