Story
Even through the roar and effervescence of the 1920s, everyone in New York has heard of Benjamin and Helen Rask. He is a legendary Wall Street tycoon; she is the daughter of eccentric aristocrats. Together, they have risen to the very top of a world of seemingly endless wealth—all as a decade of excess and speculation draws to an end. But at what cost have they acquired their immense fortune? This is the mystery at the center of Bonds, a successful 1937 novel that all of New York seems to have read. Yet there are other versions of this tale of privilege and deceit.

Yes, since a loathsome administrator gave Rose's beloved world history classes to Martin, knowing it would hurt her. But keeping her distance from a man as warm and kind as Martin will prove challenging, even for a stubborn, guarded ice queen. Especially when she begins to see him for what he truly is: a man who's never been taught his own value. Martin could use a good teacher - and luckily, Rose is the best.

Real estate isn’t just about beautiful houses and nice people. It’s a serious business that deals with the most valuable asset most of us will ever own. Unfortunately, the bulk of most people’s knowledge of real estate is comprised of what they watch on House Hunters—which is more like a fairy tale than a professional transaction. As Is: An Insider's Guide to Real Estate was written to bring a dose of actual reality to the real estate business.

Publisher's summary
Dr. Randall Archer is a misfit....
....in the brutal blue-collar home where he grew up.
....as a 16-year-old escaping to college, then medical school, on a full scholarship to Harvard.
....in the highest echelons of Boston society, where the woman he marries and the blueblood research partner with whom he shares his laboratory belong.
Even Archer’s brilliance as a pathologist catapults him into direct and dangerous conflict with the medical establishment he fought so hard to join.
As the Great Depression presses down around him, Archer teeters at the edge of a precipice. He must choose between his hard-won career and the sacred oaths he took as a doctor and scientist—before all his choices are lost forever.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

So good and relevant! Can’t wait for sequel!!
I think the The Human Trial is a great book because at the same time as it being a pleasure to listen to —full of drama and suspense, it also sheds light on several challenges society still faces today. Especially the struggle between new discoveries vs established frameworks. For example the study and practice of medicine. The characters in the book are animated and few real. This book left me hanging so can’t wait for a sequel to this!!
