About this listen

In this original short story in the best-selling Mike Bowditch mystery series by Paul Doiron, Mike is confronted with a case of stolen identity.

When the body of a young man is pulled from a submerged car in Roque Harbor, rookie Game Warden Mike Bowditch is shocked when the man’s driver’s license identifies him as none other than...Mike Bowditch. For weeks, Mike and his colleagues have been fielding reports of a man terrorizing the locals while posing as a game warden, wielding a plastic pin-on badge and claiming to be “Warden Bowditch”. Who is the imposter, and how did he end up dead in the bottom of a harbor? Mike must uncover the truth in order to clear his own name.

I really enjoyed this one, except

Paul Doiron & Henry Leyva have done it again. I really enjoyed this one except for one thing, it left me anxiously waiting for the next Mike Boditch adventure.

Watch out: story did not have an ending

I adore this author, his characters, the rural lifestyle, and the values he promotes, so it PAINS me to give less than 5 stars. But .... he did not finish this short story - and so I must be honest and give it less than 5 stars.

Another great short story

Another great short story. The only issue I have is the narrator used a different voice than he has used in other books for some of the same characters. Other than that, a great listen.

Sorry you couldn’t be bothered to finish this book

You were to motivated to make us listen to the next book.
Given that I read all your other books, I’m very disappointed that you didn’t have Mike clean up. And we are still waiting for the wolf to come back and him to get back to gather with his true love.

This was a 1 credit rip off.

I didn't look closely. this was an hour long rip off for 1 credit. This should be a freebie. Instead I wasted a valuable credit for 1 hour of listening. Shame on Paul Doiron and shame on Audible.

Not with a credit

I have enjoyed all the books in this series, sadly this was not one of them and I would not recommend it at all.

Lame bait and switch - do not buy IMO

No indication before I purchased this that it had no ending to the story and is a bait and switch to the next story they want you to purchase. Nope. Will not, sadly, buy this author again on principle, though the story and narrator seemed interesting. Right up until I was like ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO

Unfinished short story

Great start to a short story, but the author never finished the story. It abruptly ended without any resolution to the story. Could be really good with an ending. Otherwise I have enjoyed all of the other books by this author in the Mike Bowditch series and am looking forward to the next book.
