I love the stories of Jeeves and Wooster, so am very sorry to say the narration of this collection was so poor I missed bits of the stories. it sounded like a grade schooler who doesn't read aloud very well. Hesitations, mispronounced words, mistakes re-spoken, incorrect emphasis, and more made it very hard to listen to. The constant, repeated tune playing throughout the entire collection quickly became an additional annoying distraction. I persisted in listening only because of my love for the writing itself. I cannot recommend this audio book at all; far better to read the stories yourself.

very poor narration

I made the mistake of buying this without reading the reviews. What a shitshow! It's TERRIBLE!

Avoid any narration by Deaver Brown

Absolutely TERRIBLE

Unlistenable. I read a story better to my daughter when she was 4. and that damned music.

Worst audio performance I've ever heard

I always enjoy the adventures of Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse. Sometimes I get so excited to find an audio version of something that in my haste to add it to my Audible library - I forget to listen to the sample of the narration. I also forgot to read the past reviews. I applaud Mr. Brown for the courage it takes to put yourself out there.

I do have a few constructive comments for you:
1) Twinkle music on a loop should only be used for short things like poems or sonnets. This did not work with Wooster and Jeeves. It set the wrong tone. This story is set in the 20's where the music was jaunty like the Charleston.
2) Music should only be inserted in short discretionary areas where music would actually be appropriate like the night club scenes.
3) Narration benefits greatly when edited. My husband reads for Audible (he used to be a radio DJ). I listen to his chapters to QA the content against the script and let him know if there are issues in the "listen-ability", forgotten lines, or errors in general.
4) I found several places where it would have been better to stop and re-record when there was a mistake in the read.

Again, thank you for your effort.

Dreadful..the narrator is just awful, stumblinbly read with a mouthful of mush and an ill matched accent. Unlistenable.

A travesty

the reader is just bad and the omnipresent 'musac on a loop' irritating. The reader ruined a good story. I lasted only about 20 minutes and couldn't take anymore.

awful, ghastly and irritating

As others have stated, there is annoying music over the audio, but that isn't the worst part. This is a poor reader and obviously no one cared to edit/re-record problems sections.

There are better versions.

I appreciated the narrator’s love of Wodehouse. But he clearly is not a voice actor or professional reader.

The narrator’s voice was not clear. He stumbled like any of us have done when reading aloud. I could have gotten through that.

The background music of electronic piano on a loop made the narration difficult to follow. The background music was.and endless loop, way too loud.

Don’t waste a credit on this.

Impossible to listen to

The narrator is so boring that he completely ruins the story. I have several other titles by P.G. Wodehouse and love them, but this one was impossible for me to get through.

Terrible narrator.
