About this listen
The Classic Text Annotated to Update Graham's Timeless Wisdom for Today's Market Conditions
The greatest investment advisor of the 20th century, Benjamin Graham taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" - which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies - has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market Bible ever since its original publication in 1949.
Over the years, market developments have proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. While preserving the integrity of Graham's original text, this revised edition includes updated commentary by noted financial journalist Jason Zweig, whose perspective incorporates the realities of today's market, draws parallels between Graham's examples and today's financial headlines, and gives listeners a more thorough understanding of how to apply Graham's principles.
Vital and indispensable, this HarperBusiness Essentials edition of The Intelligent Investor is the most important book you will ever listen on how to reach your financial goals.

Story
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Please learn how to pronounce the names and terms before you perform!
Good book, but reader should learn how to pronounce words like "debenture", "Qwest" and "Bogle" before he starts. It really detracts from the book when he sounds like a fifth grader.

This book has non stop documented examples of why their strategy works along with consistent advice on how to safely invest. I found the last few chapters a bit much, but that’s because I’m sold on indexing and am not as interested in picking individual stocks. Dry yet extremely necessary
A lot of what I heard in the intelligent investor was contrarian to the get rich quick mindset of today. Although a lot of the information regarding the valuations of companies and bonds has changed dramatically over time, the basic principles that Graham lays out are extremely fundamental to long term success and discipline as an investor. If you have an investing time horizon of over 30 years you must listen to this.

A classic
Basic information on investing, time tested. The reading is clear. This book is dated in that information and examples only go to about 2002. There are references in the audio to charts and tables that I couldn't find, but the material is clear without them.
