About this listen

I hate Ripley Brewer.

So, why am I cuddling on his lap, peering into his ocean-blue eyes while cameras record our every move?

My best friend needs my help to save her career, and I would do anything for her. Besides, filming a reality show sounds fun … until Ripley shows up to play the role of my fake boyfriend.

As always, we nearly come to blows within minutes of seeing each other. The playboy billionaire accuses me of a setup, but I insist I’d rather live in a world without carbs than spend a minute with him.

At some point during the melee, we sign contracts. I can’t stand the look of his six feet two inches of chiseled abs and broad shoulders. And I loathe his arrogance. But now that he’s my pretend beau, I’m stuck acting like I’m falling in love with my biggest enemy.

It turns out that Ripley’s a good actor, too. Every soft touch on the small of my back makes my heart thump faster. His sultry smirk feels like it’s only for me. I should detest every word that passes his kissable lips.

Is this all a ruse, or does Ripley want to end this episode of The Invitation going from enemies to lovers? Because now? I’m not convinced I can despise him anymore.

A fun read!

I have recently fallen head over heels in love with audiobooks and this one bringing so much extra to their story. I loved how the banter between the characters came even more to life through the audio.

Dating show with someone you despise
Enemies to Lovers
Fake Relationship
One Bed
Billionaire
Forbidden

Book three in the Brewer Brothers Series but can be read as a standalone.

This was such a fun read. A true enemies to lovers. Their dislike for each other was so clear from the beginning and I loved finding out exactly why as I got further into the book. Their banter was top notch. The burn was slow but worth it.

Georgia and Ripley have always been enemies. Forced together time and time again by mutual friends just fuels their hatred. When Georgia does her friend a favor stepping in as the female lead for a new dating show no one is more shocked to find out her male counterpart is the one and only Ripley. Now forced to play nice their relationship changes causing more trouble for the people around them.

This was such a fun read and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Enemies to Fake Dating to... Yes Please!!!

3rd in sequence but part of a larger shared universe. It totally stands alone with references to other stories but if you haven't read them, you won't be completely lost.

Ripley and Georgia were a lot of fun to see fall in love. There was so much hate and fire in their banter and bickering that when the switch flipped into fake dating mode I was extra excited to see how it would play out. When they finally realized they had no reason to hate each other and things get heated for a whole other reason, it's perfectly satisfying.

However, it's never that easy and both of these characters have weaknesses and issues that come to a head in the 3rd act. I was so emotional when these two were separated. And even more emotional when they resolve the issues and get back together.

The audiobook was performed by Lexi Maynard and Jason Clarke. I loved listening to them. Lexi is new to me and I would totally add more of her into my rotation. Her expression as Georgia was so tangible. The rage and animosity, the desire and internal conflict, the hurt and desperation. And then there is Jason. It's no secret that I love his voice, having him as Ripley was such a delight. The way this man can bring the feels to the surface with all of Ripley's self worth issues and history with Georgia. I would totally listen to this one multiple times over.

I requested and was provided with an advance copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

LOVED this❤️❤️❤️

Story - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Spice - 🌶️🌶️
Narration - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"If you keep his mouth shut, he's a 10" - Georgia Hayes

The Invitation is book #3 in The Brewer Family series. Ripley Brewer is cocky, fit, and owes a family friend a favor. Georgia Hayes is trying to figure out her life, end her unemployment, and doing a favor for her best friend Sutton. These two are oil and water, always bickering with each other, and enemies since an "incident" at the high school prom. Foreplay? I say yes. When fate brings these two together on a reality dating show, they must pretend to be strangers and falling in love. This story was gold! We still have the ongoing issue with the trouble the Brewer family is facing with their father's deception and incarceration as well as Georgia's issues with her family. I love this series, and this story is another winner.

The dual narration was fabulous. Jason Clarke and Lexi Maynard really gave us the enemies to lovers characters of Ripley and Georgia to perfection. All the passion, the heat, and emotion score this duo 5/5 soulmate stars!

Loved this enemies to lovers

I really enjoyed this next installment to the Brewer Family series. The story was wonderfully narrated by Jason Clarke and Lexi Maynard. Jason Clarke is a longtime favorite, but this was my first audio with Lexi Maynard. I thought she did a good job with the feelings and emotions of Georgia to life. Jason Clarke is always remarkable with his story telling. He does such an amazing job with all of the emotions with the perfect inflections.

Georgia has hated Ripley Brewer since they were in high school, and he made a fool out of her. She has harbored that anger and hurt for a very long time. In turn, Ripley has always showed that he has a strong dislike for Georgia as well. So when these two are thrown together to work on the pilot for a show, Georgia is none too happy about that. Eventually she agrees to just get the job done and move on with her life.

However, everything changes when these two are stuck in a cabin to wait out a storm. Confessions are made and hatchets are buried when they finally have the talk that they should have had years ago. They realize that there are much deeper feelings there than they realized. I always love the moment when enemies turn to lovers in the story and this one was perfectly done.

This was a really enjoyable enemies to lover's romance and I can't wait for more from the Brewer family.

Enemies to lovers

Lexi Maynard and Jason Clarke’s incredible narration brought Georgia and Ripley’s complicated enemies to lovers story to life. I enjoyed the snarky banter and undeniable chemistry, but I think it was Waffles that stole the show.

Quite a story!

This a quite a story that at times I loved and others are just okay. The story flowed nicely and has some fun times and a little more serious ones. I don’t feel it is as good as the last two but still is a good one. It was nice to see Mimi during the epilogue.

The two MC have intense feelings for each other that goes back years. When forced to work with each other sparks fly and a fire ignites. My favorite is the banter that goes back and forth between them on the hike. Their inner thoughts as well as the ones spoken and their actions made me laugh out loud.

I listened to this on audio. Narration is done by Lexi Maynard and Jason Clarke. I really struggled with Lexi Maynard male voice for Ripley. He sounded nasally, condescending and snooty which did not describe the male. When the female character said Ripley said her name sexy it was tough because I could not imagine it with his voice. Ms. Maynard does wonderful with the female voice. Jason Clark had that sexy male voice on his chapters and did wonderful with the female voices too.

Great & Funny Audiobook

I loved Ripley & Georgia's story when I read the book. The narration is done in dual.
Jason Clarke & Lexi Maynard did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. Riley is arrogant but charming & Jason captured him perfectly. Plus how he can transition to all those voices of the brothers was truly remarkable.
This is the first time I have heard Lexi. I thought she did a fantastic job with Georgia's character. She really got Georgia's feisty personality. Both of them brought the banter and the chemistry between Ripley & Georgia.
I really enjoyed this book. It's was fun and sweet and Adriana gave a great enemies to lovers story.

This is the third book in the Brewer Brothers series. We follow Ripley & Georgia. They have always hated each other. Having mutual friends they were always forced together. Georgia helps out her best friend and stars in a reality dating show. Little does she know her suitor is none other than Ripley.
This was a great enemies to lovers slow burn book.
Adriana did a fantastic job. The banter was a classic enemies to lovers story. I loved how their relationship progress throughout the book. Ripley is a MMC that you just can't help swoon over & Georgia was a feisty FMC that you just loved. I love how Adriana brings the Brewer brothers together and gives us some funny scenes with them.
This was a sweet, fun, and easy to read book. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Jason and Lexi are FIRE Together!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!! You get all the family banter with this story, and Adriana is a master at that. Along with the family banter, you get so much from Ripley and Georgia. This enemies to lovers story will hit with the best of them.
I am not usually a liker of stories that revolve around shows. But this one is great, and the characters are the best.

Ripley and Georgia have the best chemistry and so much banter. But beneath that banter is so much more. I loved seeing Georgia fall for Ripley and his ways. He has this charismatic way about him that even she can't deny.
Ripley is so much sweeter than I thought he was. I adore him and the way he loves his family and friends. But the way he poked and picked at Georgia made me laugh out loud.

When I saw that Jason Clarke was narrating this one, I may have done a happy dance. He captures the persona of Ripley perfectly. Jason has this way about pulling you into a story with his voice.
This was my first time listening to Lexi Maynard, and I am so glad I did. She has such a great voice that you will enjoy. Lexi has a sweetness with some sass for Georgia, and I loved it. She will definitely be on my list to listen to more of her.

This family will make you laugh out loud. I can't wait for more to come!

Absolute Fire!

Oh my! First of all the narration is spot on. I absolutely love these two narrators and could listen to Jason Clarke all day, his voice just draws me in. They both brought their A game and truly made this book for me. I am absolutely hooked on Ripley and Georgia and want more. This book has it all, lots of spice, angst, humor and family drama. I can't say enough good things about this story it gave me all the feels, lots of laughs and heartbreak. There truly is a fine line between hate and love and Georgia and Ripley walk it. All the banter and animosity they are definitely like oil and water until they let their guard down and realize there is so much they never knew about each other. My heart broke for them with all the hurt and lies they have suffered. This is my favorite enemies to lovers and fake dating romance of the year. I highly recommend this 5+ star book.
I was sent a free audiobook from HCB and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Fantastic story with amazing narration!

I know when I pick up an Adriana Locke book I am going to be thoroughly entertained. The Invitation is so good…filled with laughs, amazing banter and a smoldering attraction between two enemies. Ripley and Georgia are such a delight to read. I was laughing and loving the early scenes where their distain for one another was fantastic! The one ups and digs were so good!! A forced proximity situation gave them time to talk and listen…past misunderstandings have kept them hating each other for many years. Love the cabin scene!! The text messages between everyone are hilarious! The friends and family add so many laughs and sweetness to the story.

Jason Clarke and Lexi Maynard deliver a fantastic performance. I preciously read this book and loved it…it’s amazing how narrators take authors words and create a whole new experience to enjoy an authors words. They both have the characters perfect voice, personality and emotion. A fantastic listen! Thank you Home Cooked Books for the alc.
