Publisher's summary

CIA operative Dewey Andreas is America's last line of defense when terrorists take over Manhattan, targeting the UN and the president himself in the latest in this New York Times best-selling series by Ben Coes.

America is about to face the deadliest terrorist attack on its soil since 9/11. Iran has been planning a revenge attack for years, with three goals in mind. Bring America to its knees. Assassinate the popular US President J. P. Dellenbaugh. And neutralize their most successful agent, Dewey Andreas.

The first preemptive attack against Dewey Andreas fails, but it worries the head of the CIA enough that he sends Dewey out of town and off the grid. But as intelligence analysts work as fast as they can to unravel the chatter on terrorist networks, Muhammed el-Shakib, head of Iran's military and intelligence agency, launches a bold strike. When the president arrives in New York to address the UN, embedded terrorist assets blow up the bridges and tunnels that connect Manhattan to the mainland. Taking control of the island with its hidden forces, they race to the UN in search of Dellenbaugh and to launch an even deadlier attack that will wreak unimaginable destruction on the country itself.

While a shocked country struggles to mount a counter-attack, a hopeless, outmanned, and outgunned Dewey Andreas sneaks onto the island of Manhattan to fight a seemingly impossible battle.

Needs a technical advisor.

I usually love this author. That being said, he needs to maybe consult a tactical consultant. It’s not a huge deal to most however improper nomenclature and terms just bother me. One of the key is pumping the trigger. Very strange term. Overall I enjoyed it it just was off on a few technical pieces.

Be prepared for a wide ride

This was my favorite Dewey Andrea's book so far. Be sure you don't have anything to do for several hours because you won't be able to stop listening to it. Incredibly well-written. Non-stop action. Just can't ask for any more from a thriller. It's going to be hard to top this one.

The End..

This was a little disappointing because Dewey wasn't in it too much but it was still a wonderful book. It was #9 and I'll miss Dewey Andreas a lot. With 2,000 Five star reviews and 32 One star reviews it should tell you something. Reviewers who gave any of Dewey's book 1 or 2 stars should NOT read these kinds of books. Maybe they should try romance novels. That way there they would find less violence and swearing. Just sayin'

No romance and the F-bomb was used 50 times.

As for the narration: I disagree with a lot of reviewers who said Peter Hermann was better than Ari Fliakos. He wasn't, IMO! His emotions were perfect and his voices were spot-on, especially the female voices. He wasn't better than Jay Snyder, however, who read book 7 only.

Don’t miss this one!

Every Dewey Andreas book is good but this one is off the charts. Non stop action in an exciting fascinating plot. Ben Coes is a genius. I could not recommend this book more. I loved it.

A great listen!

While I still miss Peter Hermann, Ari did a good job.
Having spent the last two days on the range with a former Delta operator some of the stuff in the book is a little over embellished. However, its nice to listen to a 100% pro American book. Seems like several of the other action authors have been drinking the woke kool aide. Not Ben!

odd emotional emphasis at times.

The narrator uses an odd emotional emphasis at times. makes the dialogue disjointed and rather unbelievable at times. also, isn't the author reported to be former Delta? did anybody else catch lieutenant Colonel, US Navy? I don't have the hard copy of the book. maybe just an oversight from the narrator? either way it's kind of glaring. it's a good book though. I like the series.
