About this listen

The complete Jersey Girl Cozy Mysteries series in one volume.

"New Math Is Murder": Reporter Colleen Caruso was never good at math.

A stingy ex-husband, a teenage daughter, and a rusted-out Ford Escort have multiplied her troubles. Tripping over a dead body while on her morning jog seems like another incident for the minus column.

But then her new editor at the newspaper gives her a regular column detailing the investigation. He's handsome, single, and just a bit mysterious. Suddenly, Colleen's life is on the plus side.

Unfortunately, one dead algebra teacher plus two secret affairs plus four suspicious suspects quickly adds up to three perilous "accidents" for Colleen.

Which means Colleen needs to come up with the solution to the murder before the killer removes her from the equation.

"Hide nor Hair": For this Jersey girl, big hair means big trouble!

Newspaper reporter Colleen Caruso just wants her unruly curls tamed into smooth, sleek locks. Instead, she finds her stylist dead, facedown in a shampoo sink. Faster than you can say Aqua Net, Colleen starts investigating. The case gets even hairier when the owner of a local fitness studio seems to have jumped from a plane without a parachute.

Meanwhile, her suave editor, Ken Rhodes, steps in to help. And he may be looking for more than just a good story from Colleen.

Add in a missing bracelet, some suspicious husbands, and a little breaking and entering—and this Jersey girl is heading for a real blowout!

Can Colleen tie up these split ends? Or does she have an appointment with disaster?

"Another Man's Poison": Has our Jersey Girl finally bitten off more than she can chew?

Crime reporter Colleen Caruso has an appetite for romance…and trouble. When someone tries to poison Ken Rhodes (her handsome boss and boyfriend), Colleen vows to hunt down the culprit and serve them up to the police. She’s whisked away into the scrumptious world of restaurants and gourmet food as she tangles with four culinary divas from Ken’s past.

Trouble is, Colleen doesn’t know when to turn down the heat.

Is this Jersey Girl’s investigation a recipe for disaster?

Or will the poisoner get their just desserts?

Murder Jersey Style

This series of books revolves around a freelance journalist and her editor. Minor characters include her family, friends and those at the newspaper. The characters are well developed and both entertaining and intriguing at times. Watch this group as they explore who has committed murder and looks to try again.

Enjoyed all three books and am looking for more by this author and narrator pair.

Wonderful cozy mystery box set!

NEW MATH IS MURDER:  Colleen Caruso's life has been turned on its head. Her husband just walked out on her and their children for another, younger woman. She's a reporter and when she's out for a run, she trips over a dead body and takes it upon herself to start writing a column for the paper. Afterall, she was the one to discover the body; however, both her editor and the police investigator tell her it's not in her best interest. Both men disappointed me in their manner of talking down to Colleen. They keep refusing to share information with her and my feeling was "You're not a reporter, you're a columnist. Let the professional do their job." (Um, no!) Accidents keep happening and it's obvious that someone is trying to get her out of the way. There's a lot to investigate since the dead body is that of her daughter's math teacher. It becomes quite the scandal when the women come out of the woodwork to admit to their affairs, but the answer isn't apparent until Colleen's investigation pays off. I like the fact that Colleen and her boss, Ken Rhodes, have stopped pussyfooting around and are finally together.
HIDE NOR HAIR:  This is a witty, sweet story with a mystery and a delicious sense of humor. Colleen Caruso is an intrepid reporter who goes to her friend, Dizzie's, salon to have her hair straightened but, unfortunately, she finds Dizzie face down in a sink full of water. Her instincts kick in and she starts to investigate, along with her sister, Kate, who warns her away from disturbing the crime scene. Their banter ranges from hilarious to measured, with a lot of snark along the way. But Dizzie is just the tip of the iceberg and, in just a few days, another body is found and this time it's in a field at the airport. Why are these women being murdered? As Colleen works through her hunches, her evidence and picking the brains of both her friend and sister, she comes to some conclusions but without enough proof. When the pieces of the puzzle all fit together, the ulterior motives are a surprise.
ANOTHER MAN'S POISON:Food For Thought, a trendy restaurant in Tranquil Harbor, New Jersey, is the site of the golden anniversary celebration for the staff of the Town Crier. Ken Rhodes, Colleen's boss, and boyfriend, is seated next to her and she's hoping that later that night, she'll have his arms around her. But that's out of the question when his trout dinner is poisoned and he ends up in the emergency room. Colleen immediately recognizes it and saves his life. Trying to find out who's responsible for the poisoning sends Colleen and Ken Rhodes on what seems to be a wild goose chase. The scope of the investigation keeps expanding, until the signs all point to someone who was never suspected. The ending is a little rushed, is a HFN and it calls for an epilogue.
Meghan Kelly is at the top of her game and I always look forward to her narration. Each character has a unique voice and she is able to infuse a depth of emotion to make them come alive. With this box set, she meets and beats my expectations.

A Great Cozy Mystery Box Set

The Jersey Girl Cozy Mystery Series is a great box set. Three stories of a divorced mom of two kids who is a stringer for the local paper who becomes an amateur sleuth when she finds a dead body while running. That is just the first book. I really enjoyed all three of these books. Meghan Kelly narratored these and as always is excellent.
I highly recommend.

So Much Fun

I was given this set in lieu of an honest review.

I listened to this set on a long road trip, and it kept me entertained, and the other vehicle occupants were safe.

The storyline had me smiling.
The narrator's s voice was spot on enhanced the book.

Dynamite Series! I loved each story!

Sassy, snarky, sarcastic Jersey at its best, this series is FANTASTIC! I tried, I really tried to guess the guilty party, and I was three for three … wrong! Filled with twists, turns, surprises, and suspects aplenty, each story also features a cast of brilliantly crafted, deeply defined regulars I’ve quickly come to know and LOVE! Each of the three stories is beautifully written, dynamically narrated and supremely entertaining! My interest was held throughout each one! I love how the characters continue to grow and evolve with each book, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them as this fantastic series continues! Five fabulous stars!

A great set of mysteries

This is an entertaining collection of who done its that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to. Each book can be a standalone, but better to binge and more depth with context from each book. Colleen is a divorced mom with2 kids an her parents live next door- enough said. You get the picture. Her boss/bf has endless patience with her, and he needs all of it to survive the crazy relationship. Colleen's ex just needs to grow up and.man up. He's a recurring problem throughout. I liked the suspense and laughable situations that occur in each one. I would like to keep following this series. The characters are interesting and the storyline is intriguing. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Cozy Mysteries

I loved this boxset narrated wonderfully by Meghan Kelly. I love the quirky characters, storyline and stories. The novels main character centre's around criminal journalist Colleen Caruso who solves the mysteries with the help of her bestie Bevin. She never fails to get herself in hot water while pursuing the clues. Highly entertaining!

Great Cozy Mystery Box Set!

I loved this series that could be listened to as standalone books, but are much better as a series.  Colleen Caruso is a divorced mother of 2 kids with a lousy ex-husband.  She is a stringer for a newspaper with a hunky Editor/boss named Ken Rhodes.  Colleen is a fun woman who says what she feels and is sarcastic and a great investigator.  This series follows Colleen trying to figure out murders in each story while getting to know her new boss Ken.  I found myself laughing out loud during the stories and loved all the different relationships with all the characters.  The stories were filled with a lot of mystery and antics.  I really loved all the stories and am hoping that the series will continue because I would love to listen to more books in this series. Meghan’s narration was awesome as always.  She voiced every character so perfectly and made the story so enjoyable to listen to.
