Publisher's summary

Master storyteller Gore Vidal’s 1952 classic.

The fast and furious hedonistic world of the jet-set commuting between the glamour centres of Europe is the setting for this famous novel by one of the twentieth century’s most remarkable writers.

Philip Warren is a personable young American who moves amongst the international demi-gods of wealth and status in search of himself and a future, which will satisfy his part cynical, part romantic outlook.

A Very Well Read, But Sometimes Complex Listening Experience

"The Judgement of Paris" is a Really Interesting novel authored by Gore Vidal. It was published in the early 1950s. It marks the stylistic transition of the author from a fairly straightforward style to a more complex and artistic style.

The novel is set in Europe. There are many European words, names, and cultural references that made the novel very difficult for me to only listen to. I read and listened simultaneously which really helped me. I also looked up many references. In the end I enjoyed the novel, but I was glad that I did not only listen. Another reader, schooled in the French Language and various aspects of Greek Mythology and other classics might be able to follow this fine novel by listening only, better than I. Thank You....
