About this listen

When a blinding Nevada snowstorm and a broken-down truck force Hallie O'Rourke and her two young daughters into the warmth of the Last Chance Cafe, Hallie could not know she would find a new beginning at the roadside diner. Or that the handsome stranger she meets there would change everything she believes about home and family.

Chance Qualtrough is a rancher with deep roots in Primrose Creek, and he's never met a woman as alluring -- or downright stubborn -- as Hallie. An undeniable passion is pulling them together, but Hallie is fleeing a danger so threatening she dares not let Chance into her heart. Will all that Hallie fears come back with full force, destroying her last chance for the life she's always dreamed of?

I have found great enjoyment in several of Ms. Miller's books especially the McKettrick's of Indian Rock. This offering was also well worth the time and dime. That being said I have noticed that there is always a flaw in the story. I have not seen the movie so I can't speak to how they handle it there but it surprises me that Ms. Miller didn't catch it. In this work it has to do with the FBI. In McKettrick's pride it has to do with a missing car. Both are very enjoyable reads and if you like to find flaws you want be disappointed.

The story line was good but the narration was horrible. It was monotone and just horrible

What is the point in abridging an audio book?!? It is senseless, especially when pertinent scenarios are removed or REWRITTEN to accommodate the abridgment.

As some others have stated, if this story interests you, get the book! I did and the written version completes the story in so many ways.

This audio book has been chopped up like a snake caught by a cat. The “romance scenes” are pretty graphic so this is a Mature Audience Only book. They author certainly could have been softened up and left MORE to the imagination. The narrator did a pretty good job. Who ever “abridged” the story for audio did a terrible job on a decent, interesting story.

Audio production is too abridged

Very disappointed. I have read this book numerous times and was disheartened when sections were passed over. Small details that made the story all the more vibrant.
