Publisher's summary

The Last Punisher is a bold, no-holds-barred first-person account of the Iraq War. With wry humor and moving testimony, Kevin Lacz tells the story of his tour in Iraq with SEAL Team Three, the warrior elite of the navy. This legendary unit, known as The Punishers, included Chris Kyle (American Sniper), Mike Monsoor, Ryan Job, and Marc Lee. These brave men were instrumental in securing the key locations in the pivotal 2006 Battle of Ramadi, told with stunning detail in this book.

Minute by minute, Lacz relays the edge-of-your-seat details of his team's missions in Ramadi, offering a firsthand glimpse into the heated combat, extreme conditions, and harrowing experiences they faced every day. Through it all, Lacz and his teammates formed unbreakable bonds and never lost sight of the cause: protecting America with their fight.

The Last Punisher brings the listener into the life and mind of a SEAL, demonstrating the tough realities of war. At the same time, Lacz shares how these experiences made him a better man and how proud he is of his contributions to one of this country's most difficult military campaigns.

meh

Performer struggled with some jargon (case vac instead of caz eevac). story seemed a little forced. entertaining but not as good as no easy day or lone survivor.

Best war audiobook I've listened to.

This book was awesome. I was pulled into the action everytime i listened to it. I burst out laughing several times even which doesn't normally happen. I hope Dauber wrote some more on his other deployments.

well done

Really enjoyed this addition to the canon of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in the early 2000s. Helps paint a clearer picture of that time along with American Sniper, No Easy Day and others.

Loved this.

Very vivid images are brought to your imagination as this book is read. I would listen to the book at work and tune everything out working mindlessly until I snapped back into reality and realized I had finished my current task. It’s definitely a good book to drift away in.

Get after it

Lacz provides us with a true insider's view of the historic Second Battle of Ramadi and how he, his team mates and other valiant war fighters contributed to a decisive blow against AQI and other savage insurgents infesting al Anbar province. Through storytelling both honest and riveting, we get to better know the men behind the scopes of ST3/Charlie (Cadillac) platoon, their humanity, struggles and adaptation to life in the most brutal of environments. As important as it is inspiring, I am grateful to the author for sharing this memoir and even more grateful for his service.

Must read

A story just as remarkable as the man behind it. No pomp and circumstance here, just true heroism.
