About this listen

Scotch LaHague, an aide to a powerful congressman in Washington, DC, is desperate for a change. Disillusioned by the petty politics and self-serving relationships that surround him in the nation’s capital, he knows that he must make a change—before Washington changes him. When sent on an official business trip to Paris, Scotch hopes that the City of Lights will give him a reprieve from his mundane Washington existence.

That’s where he meets her—a beautiful and mysterious young woman whose sad and penetrating eyes seem to reach into his soul. As he draws closer to her while exploring the streets and cafes of Paris, he discovers the reason for her mystery: She is running for her life. Scotch wants desperately to help her, sensing that somehow, in saving her, he may also save himself. But doing so places him squarely in the cross-hairs of an international terrorist organization that will stop at nothing to fulfill its devious mission: a plot to destroy an iconic NASA space vehicle.

How far is Scotch willing to go and what is he willing to risk to keep the young woman safe—and possibly, in the process, stop the terrorist attack?

Excellent book! Excellent story.

This book grows and grows and grows on you. Nearly impossible to put down. I started listening to this audio book in my car. When I got home I stayed in the garage for nearly a hour to continue to listen. I couldn't wait for my next road trip to continue to listen. Narrator and author get double thumbs up!

Compelling, Action Love Story

While a long book, the plot was easy to follow and the main characters were compelling. It was easy to root for Scotch and Toni. I have to admit the first few chapters were slow and boring. But then as our former history professor gets sent to a conference in France the action heats up and there are countless close calls. I enjoyed the listen. Be prepared that this story takes place in the 1980s so the dialogue and tech is a little dated. But it’s a worthwhile listen.

This was a very boring book

The story is boring to me. The reader sounds monotonous and the story just drags on. Just not for me. This is the first Autio book I have not enjoyed
