About this listen

“For fans of The Matrix and Memento, a twisty, exciting adventure!” (Diana Gabaldon, number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Outlander series)

The basis for the major motion picture Infinite

Discovered as three notebooks in an antique store in Rome at the turn of the millennium, The Reincarnationist Papers offers a tantalizing glimpse into the Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives.

Evan Michaels struggles with being different, with having the complete memories of two other people who lived sequentially before him. He fights loneliness and believes he is unique until he meets Poppy. She recognizes his struggle because she is like him, except that she is much older, remembering seven consecutive lives. But there is something else she must share with Evan - she is a member of the secretive Cognomina. They are, in effect, immortals - compiling experiences and skills over lifetimes into near superhuman abilities that they have used to drive history over centuries.

Poppy invites Evan into the Cognomina, but he must face their tests before entering this mysterious society as their equal.

Wow!! I wish there were more

I watched “Infinite” prior to reading the book. Two vastly different stories, but the movie sparked the urge to want to read the book. So glad I did! Was fully immersed in the story and wish there was another book to follow on, as to continue this journey! Amazing storytelling and such great detail! Highly recommend!!!

Extraordinary Story

I started listening to this book because of the movie Infinite being released. I thought I would listen to the book before seeing the movie. I am a big fan of comparing books to movies - and sometimes I come away pleasantly surprised. After listening to this book, I am less enthusiastic about seeing the movie simply because I cannot see the movie doing justice to the book. If you are seeking a thriller - then this book is not for you. If you are seeking a STORY, a tale of a persons one life out of many, then this book is incredible. I did not know what to expect and came away extremely surprised!

This is a story of a young adult discovering that which is special about him, and then finding a home with others who share the same ability. There are no superpowers, no added abilities that give these people control over anyone except themselves, they simply remember every single detail of every life they have lived. And they find a way to pass their gained wealth forward so that when they finally do remember their past lives, they know where to find their accumulated assets. This story is about one newcomer and his journey to discovering what is special about him - and then finding the others who have been through the same thing multiple times. I found the story incredible!!

The plot, the characters, the narration - it all falls together extremely well. I was very disappointed when the book ended because I wanted the story to continue. You can do much worse in finding books to read. or listen to. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a GREAT story!!

Really kept my attention

I didn’t know what to expect, but I quickly fell in love with the story. The narration was top notch. The story kind of veers off at the end, but the rest of the book kept me fully entertained.
