Critic reviews

"A pleasant, personalized account of two celebrities-- singer/entertainer Sullivan... and TV star White... and the guide dog who touched both their lives. When Sullivan, blind since birth, realizes that his devoted guide dog, a golden retriever named Dinah, is herself losing her sight, he begrudgingly decides to adopt a new working dog--a strapping young Labrador retriever named Nelson. But when Dinah cannot accept the ``career change'' to family pet, it is longtime friend and animal-lover White who comes to the rescue by taking Dinah in." ( Kirkus Reviews)

Don't Miss This!

So happy that Betty & Tom shared Dinah's story. Two remarkable people & one amazing dog! It taught me quite a bit about blindness & dogs.

Heart warming!!

This story is such a sweet journey of Dinah, the leading lady! But it also shares how animals and humans connect, each relationship unique. I cried multiple times during my listen out of sheer gratitude and definitely saw parallels to my own life!

Hearing this book

What I enjoyed was listening to Betty and Tom and looking at the world through Tom’s “eyes”.

fascinating and heart warming

I've never really understood the phenomenal nature of a seeing eye dog or the hard work required by a blind person to learn to be a compassionate master/mistress. I adore Betty White but the fascination of this story goes beyond that. I also fell in love with Dinah.

Fantastic!

Just finished this book on Audible. I’ll be honest the only reason I selected this book was because of Betty White. But if I had to pick my top three books of all times, this book would edge its self right into the top three knocking out one of my other three. This book is for dog lovers everywhere. This book is for people who really need a clear understanding about what it’s like to be a blind person. This book is for those who love Betty White, and want a glimpse into what her personal life was like. This book was amazing and I am so thankful that I just selected it on a whim.

the personality of the dogs

Tom Sullivan's fight for independence and the use of Dinah to achieve that Independence. and of course Betty White's Love of animals of all kinds especially the dogs.
