A beautiful tribute to Betty White, one of the most beloved and treasured American icons

Betty White’s award-winning career spanned seven decades. From the early days of television on the game-show circuit to her unforgettable roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, and Hot in Cleveland, she was the first lady of television. With her irreverent wit and comedic timing, she was a force of nature forever cherished by fans young and old.

In Betty White’s Pearls of Wisdom, listeners will find a more intimate look into Betty’s life as told through the eyes of Patty Sullivan, her lifelong friend and adopted family member. “My remembrances are perhaps an echo of things already said, but I hope my stories hold up a mirror, another reflection of her essence and how she affected my life so profoundly.”

Patty met Betty in the late 1960s, and the Sullivans—Patty, her husband, Tom, and their two children—enjoyed a rich relationship and amazing closeness through Betty’s final days. Through her stories we see Betty’s fun-loving banter over a game of Scrabble, her wisdom imparted on a moonlit Christmas sleigh ride, and her passionate advocacy for all members of the animal kingdom. Betty’s uncompromising values were the authentic core of the life she lived and savored—tasting every minute along the way.

Betty White’s Pearls of Wisdom gives you a glimpse into the personal relationship with “her Sullivans,” and the pearls of wisdom she imparted that forever transformed their lives.

A Beautiful Tribute

Having read Tom Sullivan’s and Betty White’s books, it was lovely to hear their stories from Patty’s point of view. There were also some things about Betty I hadn’t heard before now. I loved it.

Fantastic Fitting Tribute!

Incredible job illustrating your precious time with America’s favorite Betty! She was an incredible inspiration to this of us who didn’t know her personally and I can’t imaging the awe she inspired in those who knew her intimately. Thank You for writing this!

This book re-broke my heart.

Betty White was always a part of my life, which began in 1973. The Golden Girls remains in my top 3 TV shows of all time. I watch the whole series once a year. We all know how beloved she was by the world. To hear just how beloved by her best friends, and just HOW truly amazing she was, was a rollercoaster. I wasn't surprised by any of the wonderful things I learned from Patty Sullivan's 50+ years of friendship with her. But I understand even better why the loss of this wonderful woman, wife, actress, activist and friend is always going to hurt. But it's so nice to know that even after everyone who loved her during her life is gone, her actions and passions will still have positive impacts for decades to come. Thank you, Patty Sullivan, for sharing the times you and your family spent with her. Hearing your last visits, and your goodbyes broke my heart again. Because I can watch her any time I want, it's been hard to believe she's actually gone. But these words from her loved ones made it real. "Thank you for being a friend" is a bit cliche' to me. I think "Thank you for being" works better.

terrible audio recording

The book itself is fine and I probably would have enjoyed it if I'd read it physically instead of listening to it.
The audio recording is terrible! She kept repeating sentences, pausing awkwardly in the middle of thoughts and phrasing things weird, which sometimes made it hard to follow. You can hear that she has something in her mouth the whole time, can hear papers being shuffled, and there is a hum of background noise too.

The reader added no expression to words. It became boring listening to it.

Not what I expected and the lack of expression in the readers voice made it boring for me.
