About this listen

Bill Corde looks down at the face of the murdered girl and sees the horror of sudden death. He cannot know, as he stands there at the trampled, muddy scene beside the college girl's corpse, that his own life is about to slip into terror. He cannot know that everything he holds precious is about to shatter before his eyes. He cannot know that his career - and his family - are about to enter a new dimension of danger.

For Bill Corde, the killer is everything he fears most. For Sarah, Bill's wild, learning-impaired daughter, trapped in a world of frustration and ridicule, he may be just the person she's been waiting for. Someone who understands her worries and loneliness. Someone who signs his notes "The Sunshine Man". Someone she can run away with-even a perfect stranger.

Production issue

There is no short break...just a couple of seconds...between scenes where there is a change of scene. Same reader Mistress of Justice gives a short break between changes of scenes. Not having one is really irritating. If not paying attention all the time, if attention drops even a bit for at a scene change, I was lost and had to rewind to relisten. It got to be really a pain quickly. So production people, learn from this!

Terrible narratator

I almost quit this one at the beginning because the narrator is so mechanical sounding! The story is a bit all over the place and probably better to read than listen

Terrible narrator

i abandoned this book after struggling through the first 2 hours. The narrator is terrible, no pauses between sentences and no inflection at all. Had to give this book up. Might try to read myself, really like the author, just not the narrator.

Couldn't get past the first 15 minutes..

I tried hard to understand the storyline...but just couldn't get into it. returned it. narrator poor.. lost my attention. not the kind of book I'm used to hearing from Deaver. I still don't know what the story was about... abandoned.

Nothing

Dislike. Really slow start. Skipped many chapters and didn’t miss anything. I like the other books by this author but couldn’t get into this one
