About this listen

John Corey, former NYPD Homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, is back on the trail of Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist known as 'The Lion'. Corey and his partner, agent Kate Mayfield, tracked Khalil across the US after his threats to wipe out the US in a horrific wave of terrorism. But after methodically eliminating his victims one by one, Khalil disappeared without a trace. Now, years later, Khalil has returned to America to take care of unfinished business. 'The Lion' is a killing machine on a mission of revenge, and John Corey will not stop until he rids the earth of this tyrant once and for all.

Scott Brick Drawl is driving me nuts

Would you try another book from Nelson DeMille and/or Scott Brick?

I listened to the Lions Game and the reading was really good. This books, Scott's slowed down his pace and started a looooooog drawl. Waiting, waiting waiting for him to finish senatances.

What other book might you compare The Lion to and why?

The Lions game

How could the performance have been better?

Speed up the read- stop the drawl

Could you see The Lion being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes

Satisfying sequel

Any additional comments?

Rounds-off of the story started in the Lion's Game. This series of books are reasonably engaging for the type, but lack the depth of characters or beauty of writing to take them beyond the standards of a commercial thriller.

The LIONS GAME Part 2

In some ways, even better than The Lions Gate.
Cant wait for the next John Corey novel.
Scott Brick's narration is excellent, in both books.

***Brilliant***

The Lion is a brilliant follow up to The Lion Game.

The story is very fast paced and had me hooked right from the start. Once again I loved the main character John Coreys humour.

I hope there is more of John Corey to come.

So-So Demille

Any additional comments?

I've read or listened to most if not all Nelson Demille novels and I've loved them. His main characters are always engaging and funny and great to hang out with for the length of a story. Having said that, I found The Lion to be somewhat formulaic and a little predictable. John Corey who was great fun in Plum Island and The Lion's Game was grating in this story. The villain Khalid was so over the top that it was almost comical. Demille has done better.
