About this listen

A stand-alone novel set in the Ark Royal Universe!

The first major alien offensive against Earth has been blunted, winning humanity time to deploy new weapons and prepare new tactics as Earth's space navies prepare to take the offensive. But the enigmatic aliens have plans of their own - a full-scale attack on Earth that will either win the war in a single stroke or lose it.

The stakes have never been so high. The fate of humanity itself is in the balance. And, as battle rages across the solar system, as humanity finds its back pushed firmly against the wall, millions of people - military and civilian - struggle for survival, knowing that victory will come with a very high price....

And defeat will be the end of everything humanity holds dear.

If you haven’t read this series, read book1 and 2, then boom 10 and then 3. Don’t bother with 4-9.

Glad they told this story

This is a fine book, part of a series I like, that I wanted to listen to in the car. When the reader was just reading along with his English accent it was fine. When he tried to do female voices or American or Russian accents he was awful. He should have just read the book in his normal voice. His attempts at accents were like nails on chalk boards. Took a lot away from the book.

The reader was awful.

it answered a lot of the questions about what happened back in earth when Ark Royal was out in about. it's a nice addition to the series

I like how vulnerable and helplessness those women on the plus Andy were. I think a good dose of Stockholm syndrome would be a good twist sometime

I liked the narrator's accent.

I have enjoyed the series up to this book. I thought going back in the time line, too far back, was unnecessary and frankly boring. I feel that the story was not enhanced by any of the story lines presented. I guess as a reader/listener I prefer to move a story line forward. I truely hope the next book explains why this retospection was neccessary...

The longest day....

I like the space battles and dramatic theater, but I'm tiring of the sexual discussions

worth a listen if you're a completionist

You've got to be kidding me. I've listened to ALL of the Ark Royal series and loved them all until now. You totally lost me by mentioning elves and Riverdale. It just shows that you've run out of original ideas. Last Nuttall book I'll buy!

Elves & Rivendale?

The author is assuming a future world where we have not advanced very far, both socially and technologically. The misogynistic and racist undertones are pretty obvious and the story telling throughout the series is actually very repetitive. I’m not certain why I’ve wasted so many credits on this series.

Unimaginative

WOW! This Ark Royal book takes place on Earth and in space. The attack on Earth really makes you think about how helpless most of us would be if we lost electricity, internet, banking, access to food or transportation.
Basically it would be chaos!!! Good read and I hope the next book come out soooon.....

Cliffhanger! Hurry & Publish the next book.
