About this listen

The recent death of one of the descendants of Dr. Watson has brought to light his personal papers. These include a number of stories that Dr. Watson suppressed at the time for various reasons. As all involved are long dead, the inheritor has agreed to the publication of a set of eight of the most interesting adventures.

Easy listening stories. Just what I was looking for.

As an avid listener rather than a literary critic, I found the eight stories in this collection to be highly engaging and enjoyable. While I may not be qualified to analyze the intricacies of the authors' writing styles, I can confidently say that the narratives were easy to follow and captivated my attention throughout.

Each story had its own unique charm, and I found myself drawn into the various plotlines and characters. Some resonated with me more than others, but overall, the collection provided a diverse and entertaining listening experience.

The one aspect that did give me pause was the narrator's approach to differentiating the characters' voices. While the attempt to create distinct personalities was admirable, the similarity in the delivery, particularly with words ending in "s," occasionally became a bit distracting. That said, the narrator's overall performance was solid and did not detract significantly from my enjoyment of the stories.

In summary, this audio book collection offered a delightful and accessible listening experience, I would recommend it to fellow SH short story audiobook enthusiasts looking for an engaging and varied set of stories.
