About this listen

The year was 1905. Marshal Massey walked into Creek’s office and said, “You’ve been selected to go to Paris, France, and exchange law enforcement techniques with the French.”

On the transatlantic crossing, Creek meets a beautiful young widow named Loretta Chandler, and is smitten by her charms. They agree to renew their romance after they get settled in France.

Creek helps resolve a couple standoffs, and then the French Premier tabs him to solve a kidnapping. He is given five days to find the grandchild of the president of France; after that the military will take over bringing about civil unrest, and possibly civil war. He is provided with former a secret policewoman to act as his interrupter who turns out to be the beautiful Lorrie from the ship.

The investigation takes several twists and turns, with political intrigue at the center of the kidnapping. Lorrie proves to be a very able assistant.

Enjoyed the storyline but the narrator was bad. Hard to follow who was talking. But the story was well written and plot was convincing.
