Couldn't put the book down.

I bought this as light entertainment but found myself intrigued with the characters and the story. The characters ranged from widows, independent women, barmaids, a dishonest and abandoned landlady, Rangers and a whole family of bad guys. This was a very enjoyable book!

Enjoy this book

I really enjoyed this book. Love the different aspects of the stories. I’m not a big fan of the narrator. I feel her voice is too old for the characters.

Great Texas story!

Sweet story, good pace, and intriguing characters. A wonderful way to spend a few hours going back to a simpler time…or NOT so simple after all! Lots of twists & turns, historical accuracy and good ending. Linda Stephens may be one of the best narrators EVER!!

Whispering Mountain

One of the best historical romance series I’ve ever heard. I love Jodi Thomas and I love Linda Stevens. I would recommend to anyone that asks.

narrator's voice took some getting used to

the narrator's voice took a while to get used to. the voice changing between characters were subtle... wouldn
would've like for them to have been more distinct in each character..

Excellent - can't wait for more!

A thoroughly enjoyable listen with good plot and character development. I searched this book out after I listened to another in the series and enjoyed it every bit as much.

Texas Rain

Jodi Thomas writes the best books. Her stories are always good. If this book had been narrated by someone more suitable it probably would have been a 5 rated. I had even requested Jodi Thomas' books be part of the selections in Audible.com, so I was delighted when they showed up. However, the narrator made all the characters sound old, especially the younger sister. I was disappointed in the audible book.

Kept my attention

There is a good balance of adventure and love. I don’t love that some things are repeated throughout the story but it’s not overbearing.
