About this listen

Readers’ Choice Award winner Jodi Thomas pens a touching, passionate tale about never giving up on love. Texas Ranger Travis McMurray prefers chasing outlaws to being cooped up in domestic life. But all that changes when he meets Rainey, a stunning beauty who steals not only his heart—but his horse. On the run from an arranged marriage, Rainey wants to start a new life inthe West—but will Travis be able to track her down before she disappears for good?

A bit slow, but matched the pace of life I imagine for the period of the setting. And I enjoyed the change from so many of the over-used formulas of other romance novels. The narrator’s voice was rather irritating at first but I got used to it. Except for Sage’s voice which sound more like a 90 yr old vs 19 y.o. she is described.

Cute story

Sweet story, good pace, and intriguing characters. A wonderful way to spend a few hours going back to a simpler time…or NOT so simple after all! Lots of twists & turns, historical accuracy and good ending. Linda Stephens may be one of the best narrators EVER!!

Great Texas story!

I bought this as light entertainment but found myself intrigued with the characters and the story. The characters ranged from widows, independent women, barmaids, a dishonest and abandoned landlady, Rangers and a whole family of bad guys. This was a very enjoyable book!

Couldn't put the book down.

I really enjoyed this book. Love the different aspects of the stories. I’m not a big fan of the narrator. I feel her voice is too old for the characters.

Enjoy this book

the narrator's voice took a while to get used to. the voice changing between characters were subtle... wouldn
would've like for them to have been more distinct in each character..

A thoroughly enjoyable listen with good plot and character development. I searched this book out after I listened to another in the series and enjoyed it every bit as much.
