About this listen

Modern-day Rome: Two American archaeologists suddenly die in an underground passageway in the Roman Forum leading to the buried rooms of Emperor Nero's Golden Palace. The Italian authorities conclude the deaths were caused by a devastating and highly contagious virus. Tom Stewart, an NYU forensic archaeologist who was present when the deaths occurred, becomes entangled in the race to find the supply of the virus - a race involving many powerful players desperately seeking the deadly contagion. Stewart must find and destroy the virus before others harness its sinister power.

The Vatican, foreign groups, the world's largest genetic seed manufacturer - all have their reasons, and none will stop until they succeed, no matter the cost or risk to millions of people if the virus escapes and causes a pandemic.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. I began to lose interest in the book after the comment about the Mayans building Machu Picchu....tell me, who was the editor of this book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something by Jennifer Hiller

What does Edoardo Ballerini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I did enjoy his performance. It was apparent that he understood the characters as Hyland was trying to portray them.

Could you see The Moses Virus being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No. Although the premise was good, it seemed to be written with the thought of it being made a movie.

Mayans built Machu Picchu?

Good timing in the age of a real pandemic. Story was well written with no lapse in the action

Pfor a Pandemic

As a whole, it was not unlike reeding current news articles.

The most interesting aspect of the story was the timing of the subject. A deadly virus with a world pandemic potential, prepared to be unleashed on an unsuspecting population.

I am grateful for the many opportunities this story provided for napping. It was an adequate sleeping pill.

I really enjoyed the book, it was very relevant to the times in which we live and extremely thought provoking Kept me interested until the end
The narrator is one of my favorites and that helps a story as well
Enjoy a great weekend book

Really enjoyed the story and narration. Was hesitant with the whole Covid thing, but wasn’t that at all. Cool historical tie ins. Good read/listen.

Given the current situation, was hesitant…

The narrator does a pretty good job through out the story. The authors writing gets more and more like a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys book as it goes on. (Yes I'm that old) I'm writing this at roughly 1hr from the ending point because I might not finish this story. I'm going to start reading descriptions of new books in the library. If I find an interesting new one, I'm gone!!

This should of been rated as an YA category, maybe

Nothing new here. Disappointing storyline and frustratingly false narrator. Waste of hours. Had to put it on speed to finish.

Boring and predictable

The story was somewhat compelling, but also pretty predictable. And it never used three words when seventeen would do. Overall it was still somewhat enjoyable.

It was ok

The story started well with a halfway plausible plot. That changed near the end. (No spoiler. Alert). Great narration by Eduardo ballerina

I didn’t like the near ending
