Publisher's summary

Join Lenny, son Barry, girlfriend Portia, and hacker Emma Meripol as they connect the dots that lead them on a carnage-strewn chase that will set you on edge and keep you guessing to the very end. It begins early one Christmas morning at a local Starbucks as Lenny, an ex-securities trader turned sleuth, watches a curly haired barista add a suspicious packet of white powder to a woman's coffee. And, well, I hate to spoil the fun....

Unusual premise for a contemporary thriller

This is a contemporary thriller filled with dimensional characters and an unusual premise: a recent retiree gets drawn into solving the mystery of some suspicious deaths. Along the way he and his unlikely "team" uncover a plot to steal technological secrets that in the wrong hands could actually alter the way people think and behave - without them realizing it. Michael Lieberman provides a fast pace and a very well-ordered plot to keep the action moving. James Conlan narrates in a style that's spot on: good storytelling and likeable, three-dimensional characters. Let's hope there's more adventures about Lenny D and his gang.
