About this listen

In Dale Brown's Puppet Master, intelligent machines take center stage as America battles the Russian Mafia in Eastern Europe.

Louis Massina is revolutionizing the field of robotics. His technological wonders are capable of locating disaster survivors, preventing nuclear meltdowns, and replacing missing limbs. After one of Massina's creations makes a miraculous rescue, an FBI agent recruits him to pursue criminals running a massive financial scam - and, not coincidentally, suspected of killing the agent's brother. Massina agrees to deploy a surveillance bot that uses artificial intelligence to follow its target. But when he's thrust into a dangerous conspiracy, the billionaire inventor decides to take matters into his own hands, unleashing the greatest cyber weapons in the world and becoming the Puppet Master.

this was a fun bit of escapist techno suspense with lots of fun twists. the characters felt a little rough but still it was a great time.

intricate multilayered plot.

Not Dale Brown's best. I used to his High Energy action. Look forward to his next one

Struggled to finish.

I mostly liked the story. but the narrator about killed me. All I could think of was it was a voice from a 20/20 episode.

Not a fan of the voice

First time author(s) for me. The two authors have each written many books on their own as well as co-authoring another series. I assume this is the first in what will become a series in the techno thriller genre.

With this being the first book, much of the book is used to introduce us to the different characters. There are some gee whiz techno gizmos that are used to help solve the problems. The characters can use further development and the story lines fine tuned but it has the makings of a good series. I'll have to see what the second book is all about before deciding whether or not to push on.

interesting

It never did. This book for me went right to the end and never developed. I kept thinking to myself we were pretty far into the story for it to just be starting. And then it ended. I must say it will be a while before I take another chance on Dale Brown.

I waited for it to get off the ground....

I made it though

This book was horrible. The dialogue was juvenile, the story was childish and the narration was the worst I have heard. Has to play at 1.25 speed to avoid falling asleep.

Not even worth a $3.99 purchase
