About this listen

Everything changed the day they arrived…

Adam and Kimberly Hall are enjoying a quiet suburban life with their daughter, Crystal, and their dog, Bowser, when an emergency message flashes on their phones: meteor impact imminent, seek immediate shelter.

Minutes later, the shock wave rages through South Austin like a hurricane, and they’re left to pick up the pieces. As dusk begins to fall and horrific creatures come crawling out of the impact craters, they realize they’re under attack—and the attackers are not from Earth.

After the initial encounters turn deadly for his neighbors, Adam realizes that they can’t stay in the city. He has an old Army buddy with a ranch in Texas Hill Country. They have to get there before it’s too late.

Nightstalkers is a post-apocalyptic invasion story for fans of The Last of Us and A Silent Place.

Adventurous

I love a good alien takeover, and when they send their demon dogs as a preliminary visit, it’s even better. Sadly, this one did t keep me as I’d hoped.

Apocalyptic bullies always seem to come out in droves. What really could have helped this tale along would have been for the huge plot twist to have happened sooner. Speaking of the “resurrected one”. My way of dropping a hint without a spoiler. It would have been so much better to have built the tale in that, rather than another sellout to humanity and ruthless Mayors/Governors.

A different spin on alien invasion.

So of the actions of the main character, Adam, makes you think he should have known better. Way to trusting.

it was ok

this book was ok. This reminds me of a mixture between the Walking Dead and Predators. But just like in Walking Dead, the Humans make Dumb decisions and just can't work together leaving only the bad people in charge. That really works a nerve.

True to your fellowman

I liked the story of family and friends sticking together. Having each others back no matter how dangerous it gets. I didn’t like the bad characters of the story. Especially being drug cartel and having their influence everywhere. I would have loved the story to have only the invaders to deal with and figuring out how to survive without our modern world.

excellent story

Totally enjoyed this new take on the end of the world. There is intense action, drama and surprises that will keep you glued to your seat. The narrator does an excellent job at bringing the characters and action to life. A must listen to book.

Great story and performance

This is the best book I’ve listened to all month and one of the better apocalypse stories that I’ve listened too in a long while. There’s just enough of the origin story and opening attack to set the scene and pull together the little group of survivors, and then the action jumps ahead some years to give the post apocalyptic landscape. SHF a second time when the heroes learn a secret about the aliens and they go to warn the authorities. The alien nightstalkers are also good for more than a few jump scares. This is a good book. I wish the second one was already out.

Nightstalkers: another riveting Jasper Scott tale!

This book was great! I wish it didn’t end with a cliff hanger though. I can’t wait till the second installment is available!

As usual the characters are deep, the creatures unique, the plot riveting and the scenes vivid. Jasper’s work is always great and his imagination awesome!
