Better Read

This was a tad confusing with the passages of time, the different points of view. Especially so toward the end with the transition from Clara to Sugar Plum. That aside I think if one was reading this, they'd be easily delighted from beginning to conclusion. It's whimsical and dreamlike with tender scenes and brilliant imagery throughout. If you loved the movie, this is just so much more!

Loved it!

I really ended up loving this book and I wish that a lot of the things that had been in the book were added to the movie. If you loved the movie, I think you should listen to this book as it will explain more and give you a better understanding of how The Realms came about and makes you more sympathetic to the book's villain.

I loved the narrator. Her lilt and timing of her words were impeccable and I found myself falling asleep to this audiobook because it was so relaxing. You could really see what the author had written by the narrator's tone and the way in which she read. It was overall, fantastic.

This book is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book is amazing because it’s about like Sugar Plum gets so heartbroken she turns evil no one knows that though . It’s like you get a picture of Mari‘s life where she was when she went to the realms and she made this whole town and she has to faceHer fears because she has to face sugarplum and she doesn’t want to tell sugarplum she can’t come back one day and come overheard this old conversation and she got really mad well I’m not gonna spoil the whole book but so you’re prepared to Listen to it’s gonna be kind of scary for little kids so just be aware it is very good in my eyes there’s is no rocket ships or anything sorry if you’re wanting that this is not that kind a book well I hope you like the book if you read it well listen to it it’s very good book so if you don’t understand it just ask your parents it’s pretty good So if you’re going to listen to this

" Reverse engineering " classics, it does'nt work

Altering a classic for cultural understanding or generational appeal, new media presentation for easier accessabillity, and artistic freedom to explore elements of the original that fans enjoy and want more of can be fun. Making a movie using a classic name for promotion, then rushing out to make an original classic source material to justify use of the original classic title isn't the same.
