About this listen
Audible presents The Opposite of Love, an Audible Original. Dheeman, a travel influencer, lives an enviable life full of paid-for travel and every luxury one can dream about. Amal, on the other hand, has just about scraped enough money for her first international flight. When the two of them meet on a long-haul flight to the US, they are immediately drawn to each other despite their difference. Over the air miles they rack up, secrets start to stumble out. It turns out their meeting wasn't accidental but orchestrated. Their pasts are intertwined, and while one's looking for redemption, the other's looking for revenge. Falling in love doesn't figure on their list, but when has it ever?

Story
Every woman in Millie Delacroix's family is cursed - kind of. Birth control just doesn't work for them. Like ever. Going to the altar knocked up is pretty much a family tradition. And 24-year-old Millie refuses to let that happen to her - again. Especially now that she's responsible for raising her brothers and sister. A life of celibacy is her best defense - at least until the kids are grown and can take care of themselves. And, really, what's 10 years with no sex? No men. No sex. No love. It's a fool-proof plan. Until she meets Luc Valencia.

Jane Bancroft has returned to Lovett, Tasmania after 20 years away, minus one ex-husband but plus one outraged teenage daughter. Life in the city – life in general – hasn’t quite panned out as she would have liked. With her mother unwell, now seems as good a time as any to come back to where it all began, and perhaps even start a new life here in the heart of Tasmanian apple country. Story
It's 1999, and Eira Hart and Ru Tattersall are set up to co-host The Lonely Harts Club, a new late-night radio show to help New Yorkers find love. It's a last chance attempt for both Eira, expert in Celtic mythology and amateur Welsh matchmaker, and Ru, once-hot-shot Aussie DJ, to achieve their New York dreams. The thing is, you either click with a co-host, or you don’t. It’s a bit like falling in love. There’s co-host chemistry, or there isn’t. With the countdown to a new millennium, it feels like the world as they know it is about to end.

Story
When I accidentally send a bullet flying through a handsome stranger, I’m mortified. When I find out he’s a doctor who treats children with life-threatening heart problems? I’m determined to make it up to him. Playing nursemaid to Dr. Oliver Kinkaid is easier said than done. At least while having to pretend I’m not attracted to him. He’s a decade older than me, supremely sexy and has his life together. What’s not to swoon over? Especially since I’m scraping by as a teacher, sharing an apartment with two friends, and an exciting Friday night means binge-watching Dateline episodes.

If my time with Ryan Miller were a hit track on the radio, I imagine the lyrics would go something like this: We're so different, but they say opposites attract. Oops, I've fallen, and my heart doesn't want to come back. His dad lives right next to my mom, and after the two of them suffered an unexplained accident while taking down holiday decorations, both Ryan and I were forced to become the only 30something residents of Sunny Creek Village Independent Senior Living Community.

Interesting
I loved the fact that it kept me hooked in for a long time. Story was pretty good, I loved how the narration was, so many emotions were felt. That's what Durjoy does best anyway, always makes you feel the emotion he's trying to portray.
All in all, listen to it, you won't regret.

Thought provoking
This was thought provoking because the author has the two main characters share what they’re thinking via writing it, in part, in first person. I really don’t want to give anything away so it’s hard to write this review. What they are both grappling with are extraordinary life experiences. And hearing their thoughts and feelings have the reader/listener, at least me, thinking about how I’d feel in the same circumstances, and to have a better understanding of people struggling with similar experiences. The author does this extremely well, inspiring compassion, thoughtfulness and different perspectives.
This is the first book I’ve listened to that has music at points, in the background, and other sounds that are what is happening in the book. For example, clinking glasses when characters are drinking, There are many in this book and I haven’t decided if I liked it or it was distracting. The music was distracting to me. The 2 people who who performed the main characters in the book did an excellent job! It was nice to have 2 people performing because it added to the realness of them. They brought the characters to life.
I’d recommend it. I feel like I should write down some of the life lessons that I think can be pulled from this book, so that I can utilize them. Thank you to the author for this book.
