About this listen

This number-one New York Times best-selling novel is Sidney Sheldon at his best...a novel complete with tortured romantic entanglements, reverses of fortune, thrilling suspense, and ultimate justice.

In Paris, in Washington, and in Greece in a fabulous villa, an innocent American becomes a bewildered, horror-stricken pawn in a game of vengeance and betrayal. She is Catherine Douglas, a woman caught in a web of four lives intertwined by passion as her handsome husband pursues an incredibly beautiful film star...and as Constantin Demeris, a legendary Greek tycoon, tightens the strands that control them all.

Unable to put down, even upon second reading. Wonderful narration adds to the timeless story. There's much more sex than I like in a book, but it's an intricate part of the story, not just put in to scintillate.Sheldon weaves a tale of intriguing characters , with a remarkable time as his backdrop. 5 Stars all the way.

I didn't like the end Kathrine not coming back. But that would have made them not guilty.

The envy that made Noel wanted to kill Kathrine to be with Larry.

My favorite book ever is Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon. I wanted to recreate the magic and I would say this didn't disappoint.

It has love, hate, revenge, historical anecdotes, sex, violence, culture, unexpected plot twists and a satisfying ending. I usually only listen to books in the car on the way home but I listened to this at work, home, in the tub, you name it.

Literary Masterpiece

"The Other Side of Midnight" is an exceptional audiobook in every way. Sidney Sheldon was a brilliant writer; the characters, the pacing, the plot, the dialogue, the many interwoven threads that he so deftly handles are among the best examples in 20th century popular fiction. The settings came alive to me as did the characters. Steven Pacey's narration matched the quality of the writing. Pacey handles all the various accents and characters with finesse. This book is not so much read to you as it is acted.

Although "The Other Side of Midnight" was first published in 1973, it in no way feels dated. And although there are sex scenes, they do always serve to advance the plot. Modern authors could take a lesson or two from the late Mr. Sheldon. This book has such depth and is so interesting, but is so well paced, that it only leaves the reader (or listener) wanting more. Indeed, I have just purchased the sequel.

Fantastic -- Exceptional -- Compulsively Readable
