About this listen

Charlie Castillo's secret unit has been disbanded - but that doesn't mean he's out of business. As experience has painfully shown him, there are many things the intelligence community can't do, won't do, or doesn't do well, and he has the men and assets to help set things straight.

But the first opportunity, when it comes, is shocking: A FedEx package arrives, bearing photos of barrels containing some of the most dangerous biohazard materials on earth, all of which were supposed to have been destroyed during a raid on a secret Russian factory in the Congo. Who has them, and what do they want? Castillo has a feeling he's not going to like the answers.

I wait for the next in the line to carry my favorite stories and characters forward and "Outlaws" did this for me and then some. The ending was a great surprise and left open, ofcourse, for yet another great story. The new narrator left me wanting only because I became so used to the previous. It was as if I turned on a my favorite TV program and the entire cast had been changed to new actors. If this was my first sampling of this series there would be no issue.

Another in a line of great stories.

I have been a huge fan of the presidential series from W.E.B. Griffin. This chapter has a great story but the narration is disappointing, particularly when used to the previous 5 installments. .

great story, but.....

The story is good although the changes to some characters is disappointing.

The narration is not nearly as good as Dick Hill but is passable.

Solid story

Narrator is quite boring compared to narrator of previous books. Tone, especially in “conversations” between President & Montvale are excruciatingly monotone. Books are great - going through each individually, hence the stars.

Dick Hill is a better narrator and presents the story much better food for thought on your next book 9 if you can

Should have waited for Dick Hill

This is a perfect example to show how important the narrator can be. In the previous book (SPOILER ALERT) one of the defectors spoke perfect English, in this book the defector has a heavy Russian accent. What happened? This is still a good book, I just wish they hadn’t used a different narrator.

Good book odd performance

I liked the writing and the story paid off in the end, Could have spent less time recapping the other books and I didn’t really care for the narrator, but it is hard to compare to Dick Hill.

Good Story

Narration is flat, dull, unenthusiastic, monotonic and like listening to a bedtime story. His lack of intonation made the story difficult to follow.

Narrator is not up to previous standards.

The narrator seemed pronounced s’s and c’s with whistle sound. Also I can hear the narrator breath.

It was good
